Let's tap the brakes here a bit when it comes to Lehner shall we ?
He is playing well and even I being as negative as I was about him and the trade that brought him here and I have no problem in saying that.
Saying that, I can not admit to being wrong about him just yet.
Why you ask?
A few games does not a season make.
I need more, I simply need more.
edit -- not to mention his rebound control last night was awful which he was bailed out quite often by the team in front of him.
Don't believe me, watch the game back.

Take the economics/xenophobic argument to PM people, since you can't seem to get the point.... - stashu
I'm no genius - in fact I know nothink - but the phrase "marginal utility" keeps blaring in the back of my brain every time we discuss the canadian dollar.

Samson is my boy.
Waiting on new pics of Caeser when you get them.
Shepherds are one of my loves in life.
If I would have gotten Sabre this year, I may have been tempted to name him Samson.
It was a small sample size that everyone was using to say he is terrible. - rmiethaner
Oh yea i think he is playing great too. I would like to see him be like this consistently to finish the season then i would say we might have our future goalie.
He has alot of fire out there, thats for sure. It would be nice if the team could score a few goals and help him out. Reminds me of that stretch for ullmark earlier in the season where he was playing very well and couldnt buy a win.

The thing I love about Reinhart is his play away from the puck . He is always moving and probing the defense for that soft spot . That is how he got the goal last night . I really think his hockey sense is off the charts and most of his critics cannot comprehend that . He really does make those around him better.
I'll be more than happy to admit being wrong when he plays more than just a handful of games.
You know why?
Because the most important thing to me is the team.
But like I said in my prior post, his rebound control last night was not good, it was bordering awful. - BuffaloHardHat
I think you will find his rebound control will get better with more games played. That is one of the last skills to come back for a goalie after a long layofff .

I played in between the pipes in organized leagues for quite some time.
As a matter of fact, I still do now recreationally.
I have a pretty good grasp on the ins and outs of the position seeing that I have played it for over 45 years now.

He sure looks to be a right place right time kind of player and the way many goals are scored in the NHL today that is a trait that is severely underrated by a lot of people.
For a guy his size he constantly goes to the dirty areas and is being rewarded heavily. He will probably score 20g this year. As he continues to get stronger the rewards will be greater in those areas. Future looks bright with him and eichel.

I played the position as well right to Junior A then in University in Canada. I always found my rebound control would be the last thing to return after I had a layoff . Perhaps that was just me.

Maybe someone like Stripes can correct me, but I remember hearing and reading on multiple occasions that the "litmus test" if you will, for a penalty shot is whether or not the impeded player originally had two strides or more on the offender. It's not in the official rulebook but it's the guide they use. If that's still true, then no, I don't think it is inconsistent with the way they have been calling all season. McGinn didn't look like he had that to me. Whereas with Ristolainen, throwing the stick is automatic. - buffalofan19
The "litmus test" is really did the player have a clear path to net with nobody in front of him. On the Marchand play he had has Risto beat. Had Risto hooked him or tackled him absolutely penalty shot worthy however I haven't checked to see what penalty he called on him to award the penalty shot because I didn't see one worth calling. I did not see the McGinn play.
Did not know if Trump was just as confused or if he actually was trying to help Carson. - rmiethaner
I think they were both lost and didn't hear their name, the crowd likely drowned it out.
Shows how checked out the moderators, and production crew, were that, you know, the names we're calling isn't resulting in the people coming out...we SEE THEM standing there...maybe we should address it rather than keep going...
