I dont believe people are being super defensive...more like they are just pointing out how dumb it is to criticize a team that is yr two of a complete rebuild for not running away with the presidents trophy...

I was at a bar last night so my memory could be foggy, but the one close up angle right along the goal line looked like he may have wrapped him up at the very last second. I haven't seen that angle since.

On the official scoresheet it was called hooking. So yeah. On a few of the recaps I read it said Risto "grabbed him". Nobody can agree. It was a bullpoop call.

The thing I love about Reinhart is his play away from the puck . He is always moving and probing the defense for that soft spot . That is how he got the goal last night . I really think his hockey sense is off the charts and most of his critics cannot comprehend that . He really does make those around him better.

I agree wholeheartedly on the middle ground arguement so lets see if we can...the previous two yrs the sabres were setting the record for lowest goals scored...not in team history but in nhl history...so in all actuality the scoring has improved...

I don't know that the raging debate was centered solely around their offensive woes.
I seem to recall the alarmists wanting to fire GMTM for all the questionable moves he made and the on ice results in totality being below some elevated expectations. Yes, offense is a part of that discussion of course, but citing only their inability to score. Nope, the is revisionist history.

Kane is terrible, Bogosian is terrible, and Lehner will never be worth a first. Except we're warming up to Kane, and Lehner is playing great lately.

So we'll focus less on the quality of the trades, and ignore how well the team is playing, and wail about the fact that the record is bad.

(And yes, it's possible to play well and lose; and no, that's not a moral victory or the end of the rebuild.).

His RB fumbled twice. He had two WR drop balls that hit them in the hands and his kicker missed a FG.

On his last fumble towards the end of the game I suggest you watch his effort while attempting to recover that fumble.
