Stash dug this up earlier in this very thread. They're playing on par with a team that missed the playoffs by 3 points.

They're on par with the 11/12 Sabres right now (who had 126 goals after 52 games - a whole 5 more than the current Sabres). Not saying that was a powerhouse Sabres team, but that team missed the playoffs by 3 points.

Plus scoring has been going down in recent years in the league (so I've heard as complaints about the NHL product as a whole)

So if we don't want to compare this team to the crap the last 2 seasons, there's some data from the last full season prior to the tank

I feel the MVP of that game was Wade Phillips . He defensive scheme for the game was amazing. It stifled Carolina. It put in multiple schemes that thorougly stifled Carolina and they had not seen on any Game Film. Also Cam Newton took a beating and I believe he played the majority of the game with a concussion . Every play Denver was delivering vicious hits on him even after he got rid of the ball .
I know you guys have little regard for the CFL , but I watched the game with Most of the coaching staff from The Hamilton Tiger Cats , Their defensive coordinator was a very close friend in University and he invited me down to his house in Hamilton to watch the game. Sitting and listening to some pretty good football minds gave me real insight to what was going on.

As far as Cam leaving the press conference . Look at Cam's eyes . He was concussed. Also he got up and left before he said something he would regret . I respect a player that is upset about losing . There is a saying in sports . You have to learn how to lose before you learn how to win . Lets see how these guys rebound from this next year.

So in saying that, I would have to disagree with you.

They only spied carolina's Qb 2 or 3 times maximum, Von Miller's quote verbatim.
I would not be so quick to applaud Wade as much as I would the effort of that Denver defensive line as a whole.

Well I watched the game with some good football minds . That get paid for being that . That is what they thought . Hamilton has been really good for a few years . I will take their word for it thanks. In a interview after the game Wade Phillips actually said they used the extended halftime to their advantage going over everything . The statement that stuck with me is that he and his staff reviewed Carolinas players strengths aqnd then their own players strength and developed a game plan that utilized their players strengths to neutralize Carolinas.

I wish Rex would have done that in Buffalo instead of trying to plug our players into his defense.
