They're still not making the playoffs James! A no, being offensively gifted, which he clearly is, doesn't make you the best player in the game. I'll leave it at that. |

He has a 52% Corsi, and a 98 PDO, despite scoring 10 5v5 points in 16 games.
That is a pace that would put him about 5th in even-strength scoring. You know, despite the fact he's played 16 career games.
No one else in the NHL - seriously, no one - can handle the puck the way he does at the speed he does. He has a Gretzky like awareness of where his teammates are.
In 16 games, he's been on the ice for 101 scoring chances. That is crazy.
I really do think he is the best player in the world. |

No denying CMD talent. Let's let the rest of the season play out before anointing him the "best player in the world" before he plays 20 games. He might be in consideration for top offensive player in the world, but there is more to hockey than offence, as someone said. CMD doesn't solve the defensive woes of the Oilers.
And yes, this kool-aid is extra pungent today. |

The rumor circulating is that McDavid is going to pull a Chris Pronger and demand a trade in the off season. His dad is trying to talk him out of it. Kind of a Richard move, but who can blame him? |

This blog is too sophisticated to fall for this kind of crap. We don't take kindly to your type round here pard!
Just kidding, that's sort of funny, but no one is ever going to buy it. |

Nice play, but those are the kinda moves you can make when your team blows, and you know that you're not making the playoffs...yet again. |

We will never see the game through the same lens James but I'll still read your work. You think critically, and for yourself and there just isn't enough of that around these days. You provide reasons for your opinions, albeit some not having anything to do with the point but are simply hilarious and that's cool too. Stay strong and mostly wrong brotha lol |

Great blog James, maybe your best. The X-files episode was hilarious, my life in a nutshell. Although my wife didn't care for it. As for McDavid even his line mates don't yet realize how good he is. Just stop at the net and get your stick down...he'll get you the puck. Cheers |

Cmon, you know better, yes CMD is a heck of a player & will be a star in the league. But that goal is "not" the goal of the millennia. I know Bennett has scored a few goals this year that were as if not sicker & nicer than that. I would say that was the best MSM hype of the millennia.
I say Oiler window is open for 2 more years with this group of young 1st overall players. Better make hay sooner than later. I guess Mcdavid will need to get 5 points tonight to maintain that 2.5 points per game eh. |

The Oilers are sitting 10 points out of the division and 11 in the wildcard race. Anaheim, San Jose and LA all seem to look like they are going to hold on to their spots in the divisional race. So that leaves the Oilers to make up 11 points to catch the final wild card, while jumping numerous teams to get there. Cant see a scenario where they make it in. |

There are a few in the NHL that have skills.

James,
The oilers would need to go about 23-5-1 here on out to have a chance at the playoffs. Do you honestly think a team that is 6 games below .500 is gonna go .810 to season's end? |

Maybe you ought to read about Mr. Cruz before you reveal your ignorance of US Politics. I support him and if he does not win I will likely support the person that beats him in the primary.
Sorry if that offends you.

100% agree on the BS concussion lawsuits. What's next? Suing over sprained ankles and broken pinky fingers. Like you said, if these players don't understand that hockey is dangerous then I don't understand how Darwinism hasn't already taken care of them. |
