Im biased for sure because im a wings fan
but i do think they should take into consideration that panarin has both played in a much better league prior to the NHL than any of the other rookies and hes playing with kane whos having a career year |

At the end of the day the Rookie Scoring title is a nice feather, but it's not really all that huge a deal. Once the league defines the parameters, anyone who fits within them is entitled to win.
It's good to see that Sabres fans are not the only ones who like to revisit whether the parameters are FAIR. |

He's also older.
Larkin made the jump from juniors and doesn't look out of place. pretty remarkable. |

Its turning out to be a great year for the rookies!
Lets look at things a bit differently here..
Among players who have played in at least 25 games (roughly half of the year to date) here is the points per game break down.
1- Artemi Panarin: .93 ppg
2-Shayne Gostisbehere: .82 ppg
3- Dylan Larkin: .73 ppg
4-Jack Eichel: .66 ppg
5- Max Domi: .65 ppg
Connor McDavid leads all rookies with 1.06 but has only played 17 games.
Now where do these guys rank among their NON-rookie peers?
Panarin ranks 11th among all forwards in ppg.
Gostisbehere ranks *4th among all d-men.
Larkin ranks 55th among all forwards.
*#3 in ppg among d-men is Brent Burns who also plays forward from time to time.
Ultimately, this should be a two player race between Panarin and Gostisbehere from here on out, but McDavid could very well play himself right back into things despite missing so many games to injury.

I think they will, and should....but if he's 20 or so pts. above everyone when it's said and done, I imagine it won't matter too much anyways. |

probably where the hawks will end up this season...again - Michael Pachla
I know some people think it's annoying to see the same teams in the Cup finals year after year, but the fact that the Hawks have been as dominant as they have is very impressive when you take into consideration there's a salary cap in place.
Bowman has done an absolutely incredible job of managing the roster to that team. |

yeah...how 'bout that...masterful at retaining his true core while navigating the cap...kudos to tallon for acquiring the core-talent, and to bowman's dad as well |

As much as it pains me.. I agree on Gostisbehre or whatever.. the guy has been good.
If he can stay healthy i think McDavid ends up with the epic comeback to end second in scoring to Panarin |

It just shows how important it is to draft and develop great d-men.

Tallon definitely did a hell of a job of constructing that team. Bowman has done a hell of a job of managing to keep those core players in tact. Their scouting department deserves a lot of props as well, as they've drafted very well over that same period of time, which has allowed them to plug the holes created when the role players get too expensive. |

I know right, if only they lossed by 1 or 2 they could have been excited about moral victories - sbroads24
We all know Edmonton is going to be good, but to lose their last two games by a combined score of 13-2 is embarrassing, especially with the messiah on skates back in the lineup.
The 8-1 Islanders blowout was pathetic.
I'd be just as upset as an Oilers fan only scoring two goals in two games with that lineup. |

I think it actually shows how important it is to draft and develop a well rounded team. They've had guys come up through the ranks at all the different positions and they've all played a big role in how successful that team has been. |
