Nobody is saying he's not talented. But have you gotten to see much of Larkin, Eichel, or Domi? They are all also crazy talented. Larkin has gotten time with Zetterberg this year, but in general, none of those 3 are getting to play with linemates even remotely close to being as talented as Kane is.

I have actually, and you're right, they are really talented, too. However, Panarin gets to see the top pairing d-men every shift, as well - do those other kids?

I'm not trying to argue, I just see this kid as a star on any team. And, giving him less credit because of his team/linemates is flat out wrong. People said the same thing about Saad and Leddy because they played with the Hawks. Now, they're on other teams and one's an all-star and the other is a top pairing d-man.

So sounds like the Blues cannot trade a D man right yet, so I doubt they get Drouin before deadline.

I can admit that my knowledge is limited as to the drafting process, but I would assume every GM is pretty familiar with 1st round talent, but would defer to the scouting department for later rounds. Or, I could be completely wrong.

I just remember Uncle Dale loving Cam Barker, Jake Skille, and Kyle Beach. Yuck.

I don't know much about drafting either. I just like to watch the games. I don't have the level of interest necessary to learn about prospects and rankings and stuff like that.

He didn't have either of them last year and was top in the league in points when he broke his collarbone. His numbers have increased this year, but I don't know that you can say that getting Anisimov and Panarin are really the reason. I think he's really just that good.

When you increase your scoring by like 30% year over year, yes you can give some credit to your new line-mates and the chemistry. Kane was scoring a point a game last year and was in the lead by only one point when hurt. This year he is another level above the rest. Panarin especially has amazing chemistry with Kane. It is almost Sedin like in some regards how well they find each other on the ice.
