Oh, you mean Cam Newton? Okay. What about him has to do with anything remotely close to what was being discussed? - jmatchett383

Choked last night almost as much as Peyton and Denver choked against Seattle a few years back. What a bunch of frauds, Denver will never win with that horrible defense and that fraud Peyton. |

I only move Neuvy if a contender's goaltender goes down and out of desperation team over pays. I.e. Crawford and Chicago. |

I think Chicago would rather ride Darling than trade for a goalie. Same for other contenders. Unless you're talking about an elite guy like Lundqvist/Quick/etc. or a young guy like Schneider, goalies just don't have as much value as other players do. |

I feel like there was a period of time when teams really sought out to get a solid back up or starting goalie for a playoff run. You don't see that as much anymore |

Yes but Neuvy has played better than a typical back up this season. He's got an affordable cap and signed for next year. If he thrived here in philly, I'd believe he could thrive with a contender with better defense and more depth for goal support
Edit: aside from Chicago, there could be other teams who aren't fortunate enough to have someone like Darling to ride. |

Just don't they they'd trade promising young players (Barbashev, here, Fabbri is a pipe dream) for a meh FA Gagner and a 38 yo d man coming off injury who has another expensive year.
Picks are more likely if it does happen. - Mononoke
Streit's not gonna be an easy move, even without that extra year on his deal. Guy's a third-pair PP specialist for most PO teams... that's not really gonna fetch much. Tack on that extra year and you're looking at chances of moving him before the summer being slim to none.
Gagner, nobody took for free, IIRC. |

I knew Fabbri was a long shot, but wasn't sure how high they are on Barbashev. - jmatchett383
I wonder about someone like Rattie.
Seems to be up and down with them. |

BUt but but but.............
He was supposed to be traded.
To the Flyers.
I would think it might mean that Ladd could be moved. They will need money to resign Trouba eventually. |

Big money, but getting him at less than max term is pretty solid. |

Only five years though, which is great for the Jets. They are nowhere the cap ceiling so they can afford to go high on the AAV to get a shorter term. |
