How is it that Tim Panaccio doesn't get a single comment from you fellas?
Is there some sort of Philly phaithful gentlemen's agreement that nobody posts there?
I mean, Leafs fans hated Howard Berger when he had a column here, but there were always a few comments - mostly "Hey Howard, go frank yourself!" - but still comments.
What gives? - Atomic Wedgie
I rarely read his stuff. Sometimes he can post things from interviews that are worth a read.
Mostly for me, it's that he tries to create drama. I don't live in phildadrlphia but that's my perception. Although I don't for a second think that's purely on his accord. All big media today tries to create drama and controversy. Just his job.

The 5years makes it a great deal.
Holmgren would have offered him max salary and cemetery land as part of the deal. - flyer_nutter
Don't forget the 2nd round expended to get his rights and beat out the market to get that cap cozy deal |

We need MJL to explain this odd post in the rangers blog:

Dustin Byfuglien’s AAV is 7.6 million during the season, but in the off-season it goes up to north of 10. - funmaster18
Supposedly it's 8, 8, 8, 8, and 6mil. |

So would I.
Add Trouba to Provorov, Morin, Sanheim and Gostibehere and that's pretty set. But the cost will be high and you'll never be able to resign them all later down the road.
I would take Burmistrov off WPG hands. Always liked him. Good two way Russian. - J35Bacher
Burmi is soft like hell.
To me the flyers need secondary star power. Think of players in the filppula category. Not top tier but a bit of a step down.
They have enough of the scrubs, which imo burmi is. |

In his last HB blog, he claimed Couturier had a groin or abdominal injury.
The very next day he tweets that Couturier is wearing a walking boot. |

Some people have a ridiculous hard-on for Burmistrov. I don't get it. |

The very next day he tweets that Couturier is wearing a walking boot which caused the groin injury, which then caused the abdominal issue. - Feanor

Couturier is their Filppula. If they can get a playmaker like Konecny with him and say Schenn I think you'll see them really take off.
I would have tried to get Kassian off waivers as I think a guy like him would be great on the 4th line. He has more skill then people think and has size. I think he would be an upgrade to White. |

The boot also fell on Couturier's head a few weeks ago, causing him to need an X-Ray on his jaw. |

All he wants to do is be the first to leak a story regardless of fact-checking and tries to create drama. Plus his mustache is creepy. He understands the game, but is not good at analyzing the game, so I'd rather read Bill. |

I just think he is a good two way player. Younger then Read and cheaper. Got skills.
I would have also liked a guy like Kamorav. When he came back from Swedish league. Good speed and kills penalties. Solid 3rd line type guy. PLays with an edge. |

Before that Coots was seen leaving the team's dental office and later he was out with a lower body injury.
I thought at the time that the tooth must've had one hell of a root. |

If I'm the flyers I think I might make a run at Frans nielsen this summer. i would go 3 years and give him a higher chunk of money to keep that term down.
I don't think they can go into next year just handing the 3rd line center reigns to laughton. If they resign Raffl to a good deal they can have a real solid top 9 with laughton/konecny battling it out for a 3rd line wing spot |

I'd like to see a fourth line spot not locked up. The flyers have guys in the AHL that should fight over that year long.
I like Bellemare. Upgrades to VDV or White should be looked at. For all the PK contributions, the PK still blows and a lot of that is on the forwards as well.
Not happening with Hak in the fold. VDV is a lock and we all know it. |

I don't think so.
He is serviceable for now but they know they will have to upgrade the lineup.
I think you'll see guys like Bardreau and Goulbourne filling in those roles possibly. Maybe Martel. |

Well, he's really lighting it up with a whopping 11 points in 51 games this year. He may even surpass his career high of 28 is he gets hot in the second half.
For a guy with that much hype, you'd hope he's broken 15G and/or 40P by now. Plus, dude already bolted on his NHL team once, no guarantee he won't again.
Sure, he's a good two-way player. So is Pierre-Eduard Bellemare, and so is, as you mentioned, Matt Read. The thing is, we don't have to give up hard assets for them. Burmistrov would cost us picks/prospects, likely good ones, which are the things we need to keep. I don't care if they guy was drafted #8 overall, he's 24 and has yet to deliver on his hype. When does he finally break out? |
