Just picked up my Eichel jersey at the Sabres store yesterday. My 2 year old has his already. We will both be rocking them in 116 tonight. The luck will get to him.

I'd bet that you (and me, and most others) also dislike giving everyone a trophy for participating, and not having a winner.

The true values that competition should bring out are somewhere in the middle. I personally like Cam's disgust at losing, similar to ROR sitting at his locker stall an hourafter being eliminated from the playoffs, in his uniform, totally despondent. Losing hurts. If it doesn't then something is wrong.

It's not always a crime to throw a punch, either. And when it is a crime, there are plenty of defenses that can keep a person from being found guilty. And finally, as crimes go, especially in a city like Philadelphia, throwing a punch is pretty low grade.

Agree, but when it involves cops, on or off duty, it changes a lot of things. But the one thing he has going for him is it was just one punch in pretty much an all out melee, so he showed at least a little restraint, maybe it was purely reactionary from being hit. If he was pummeling a guy that's a different story. But you can see precisely Richard and squat from that video. The video starts halfway through the thing, and there was no surveillance video of the incident, so it's all witness testimony which is pretty much worthless. You are absolutely allowed to defend yourself. He might get some lesser charges like reckless endangerment, or maybe public drunkenness, but unless there's better video I don't really see him getting a big charge of battery or ag assault.

I think it is more of a perception problem than anything. What are they doing there popping champagne at almost 3am, in the VIP? It could be normal but sounds just as shady as mccoy himself.

There are very few good things that happen after 2am, even in local poophole bars. One of them is getting home safely. The other one is a potential hookup, and even those can have their consequences that late
