This is not the first time Yzerman has gotten into a situation with a player.

I'm not saying that is the only reason, but I wouldn't put it completely to rest.
Drouins stats prove he belongs in the NHL.

I would happily take Drouin over 75% of this forward group.
Reinhart, Eichel, ROR, Kane.

Anyone else, Drouin can take their spot.

Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanaan in Anaheim both need contracts. Both are RFA's like Girgs. I don't think you could get one straight up. Lindholm would be my 1st choice but what do people think the cost is for either one. Fowler is another option, would Anaheim take a pick around the draft for him.

It'll be interesting to see what Murray does with Girgensons
IMO, it only makes sense to move him if we are getting back a top pair partner for Risto

the downside to that is your 3rd and 4th lines are cheaper players, not vets like gionta and you can't afford to pay your 3rd line center (girgens)

Im the Avalanche Whisperer of this site, you say a players name and Ill be there.

But the new sportsnet storyline they are pushing is that Barrie to the Canucks, since you know every notable player wants to go back home to play in a Canadian market.

It'll be interesting to see what Murray does with Girgensons

I think the 2016 2nd round and girgensons is how I would start talks on a trade for either Vatanaan or Lindholm. Knowing full well that Buff may have to make that pick a 1st and add a prospect. If it is for Lindholm, could Girgensons, Ennis and a 2nd get you Lindholm and a salary dump?

yeah, not shocked. It was pandering to his audience, A Sabres legend who was a healthy scratch with the Avs to end his career, goes on a buffalo radio station to praise ex-Avs who got traded to the Sabres.

Agreed. I like what players like Girgensons, Larsson or Foligno bring, but Drouin has more talent then the 3 combined.

I'd take chances on that talent level all day

Draft is in Chicago next year.. Probably late but (frank) you.
