I just hope he gets more than 2-3 games. I'd like to see what he's got.

gotta think him and baily are fixtures after the deadline, when legwand and mcginn are moved

Side note: When did they get rid of the smoke coming out of Sabre tooth when we scored? Was watching an old video and forgot all about it. Added to the atmosphere a lot too IMO the goal horn was better then too.

McGinn+ for someone like Drouin would be great, but far fetched probably

2 5th (ours and habs)
1 6th

we gave a 3rd (ours) to the pens for our creative coach
we gave a second to the habs for gorges (wild pick)

got it

you would think with 4 picks in the 3rd rd, we would have had a condition that it was our worst of the 4 picks

He won't net a 1st imo, and that's too much money, I rather just ship him out if he is going to cost more than 3.25 per year(which I anticipate he will cost more)
- Mentalorgasm5

He already makes $2.95 and is having a great year with .425 ppg this year, which is just off his career year of 13-14 which was .48 ppg which was also his last full season(he only played 19 games last year), so he's staying about the same, if not better, relative to the level of the team he's on now. Plus the fact he's the most versatile player on the team playing and playing well on all the lines, and PK and PP He'll probably get somewhere in the neighborhood of $4 million, he's 27 too, so this will be in all likelihood his last chance at a good contract. I don't think it's the amount of money; I think it's the term that the Sabres don't like, I don't think they want to pay him for 5 or 6 years. Tim Murray said as much on WGR. He said they(McGinn's agent) was telling him what he was thinking in terms of money and term and he told them what he was thinking in terms of term. It's not the exact quote, but he alluded to the money being ok, but the term was probably too much for the Sabres. That's what I got out of it anyway. I'd sign him to a 3 for $12, but if I were him I probably wouldn't sign that, because what happens in 3 years when he's 30? He's got a genetic problem with his back, he's already had surgery, and dollars to donuts he'll need another considering back surgery of any kind has a pretty low long term success rate. Granted, that's with "normal" people, and McGinn is an elite athlete, so the chances are probably a little bit better for him, but I'm not sure he's worth the risk of a long term contract especially given his style of play.

I think after they got rid of the goat. I could be wrong, I haven't gone to a ton of games since then.

Do they still have the smoke? I know it's not like the 90's early 2000's one but I don't even remember seeing smoke come out after we score at home recently.

I liken McGinn to a Jochen Hecht type player maybe not quite the same offense, but not really that far off either. A type of player that makes more contributions to the team than just scoring goals and isn't always the flashy guy on the ice. And Hecht was signed to a 4 year $14.1 million which he signed at age 30 in 2007 when the salary cap was only $50.3 million.

If Stewart got us a 2nd, McGinn will do the same. A first won't happen unless we add, and I think we have the pieces we're willing to part with to do it.
- sskkoo1

Stewart was a former 30 goal scorer, McGinn has never cracked the 20s, I think some are really overvalueing McGinn trade value.

Murray screws up the Moulson deal by giving him 5 years at 5 per but has an issue with term on McGinn? Doesn't make sense.

Ok?
- MCGUIZZY

Top9 for the future
O'Reilly
Eichel
Reinhart
Kane
Girgensons
This year's Draft Pick (most likely)

That's 6, without question
Ennis
Larsson
Foligno

Is McGinn really worth spending 4mil per to keep Foligno or Larsson on the 4th line?
And we have a TON of forward prospects with top9 potential
So even if u do want Foligno &/or Larsson on the 4th line, we'd only need 2 of those guys to work out

That 4mil would be better spent going towards a defenseman
