It's not like Bylsma is walking around saying Girgensons has played poorly this year either. He specifically mentioned how well he's played in that role. He also really likes him with Eichel. It's a tough spot, because he's done so well at both, but where is he more valuable in the overall lineup? I think that's what Bylsma needs to figure out.

I agree... Girgensons is a flex player... he is best with our shut down 3rd line group but perhaps with a few better guys on his wings than Gionta or Larsson and he could score more from that role.

The great thing is that Girgensons can go play on our 2nd line with Eichel and he scores 3 points in 5 games. He is a very skilled 2 way player that can play multiple roles both on the wing and at center.

Is he a long term 2nd liner.. probably not... but he is far better than being labeled as a "buried 3rd liner"

Different conversation. For this one I'll say I agree but I've reserved all judgement on things like this until next season.

Deslauriers had success on the top line early in the season. With the injuries they have, the options aren't really all that great in general. It's not like Eichel is sitting in the pressbox and D-Lo is getting top line minutes.

Not sure what I said, but I'm not piling anything on. I'm doing the same discussion you are, just the opposite side. I'm saying why we shouldn't trade him. You brought up Bylsma and I agreed. I disagreed on Girgensons and said we should wait until his RFA deal is up before making a decision on trading or paying big money, just like I would on most players.
