5 now. He is on another level. I still remember how i felt watching the draft lottery with 3 cards left, thinking wow this might actually happen.

Then edmonton won again

Love me some eichel, and i argued it was closer than everyone thought between them but it sure doesnt look that way right now.

Eichel will need a little more help to do what McDavid is doing. Im glad we got one of them.

Im glad too, i wouldnt trade it for anything but mcdavid

Eichel could definitely use a guy like eberle, who always seems to find that soft spot around the net and has the ability to bury it(looking at you moulson). The big girgensons debate went down today but it would be awesome if we could ice a line of girgs eichel eberle.

I just dont see him racking up assists like mcdavid will simply because i dont think their vision/passing is anywhere near equal.

I love that McDavid is back. Edmonton is actually only 8 pts out of a wildcards spot with 26 games remaining. I'll be rooting for them to win every game until the end of the season. Let their fans watch some playoffs this spring and get them the hell out of the lottery already!

Yea their fans deserve a good run here as much as the league needs them not to win the lottery again.

Its pretty incredible this guy comes back after having his collarbone broken and produces like this. I know he could probably skate again after a few weeks but still, you would think there would be some rust, let alone still having to adjust to the size and speed of the NHL.

He is above it all. I hope he stays healthy throughout his career it will be exciting to see it unfold from a very far distance

Late to the board tonight. Thankfully was playing poker with this hell whole of a game on in the background....

Those wanting to tank clearly forgot the new rules where the top three picks are auctioned off in lottery. I can almost guarantee Buffalo finishes 30th or 29th they end up picking 3rd-4th if we come in 30th or 4th 5th if we come in 29th. It is the Buffalo way and that moron Daily will take joy in all three Canadian teams winning the lotto 1, 2,3. I'd much rather watch the team attempt to grow. Win as many as our talent allows. Where we finish is where we finish. Who knows maybe we get lucky and make it into the top 3 in the lotto. I view the top 6 as all high end blue chip prospects. There's a slight drop off after that.

Don't worry Edmonton will pick 2nd this year. It will be Winnipeg, Edmonton Toronto in the lotto in some order. Book it.

It's not growing though. Winning a few meaningless games at the end of the season does nothing for them long term other than potentially ruin there chances at a great player.

Im not as quick to the conspiracy theories, three lotteries could actually help us if we finish say 4th or 5th last.

I think he has to be outstanding in just about every game to accomplish that, at least 2ppg for the rest of the season. Being healthy throughout an NHL season and producing consistently like panarin holds a good amount of weight IMO.

Nonetheless it would have been nice if kane and eichel could have meshed. Not that its a huge concern of mine because i think as long as girgensons is here he makes 2/3rds of eichels line if bylsma is smart. Find that pure goal scorer and watch the magic.

I would still be all for trying to pry eberle out of edmonton if they are for real about that.

All I've heard is he's going through concussion screening.
- chilliard77

He barely made it to the bench even with help. He should be out for a while. Everyone's different, but if after 2 minutes you still can't make it 3 feet without almost keeling over; it's a bad concussion.

I almost guarantee we don't pick in the top 2 picks. Looking at the standings I think there's eight teams very close to each other in terms of play this season and points. I want to see us play well and I will not be rooting for the tank. We've been F'd on getting the best young defender in the game and the best player in the league for the next fifteen years by this stupid (frank)ing lottery. I'm tired of getting my hopes dashed by it with that bald idiots smirk when he reads the cards. (Nothing against bald people just hate Daily) I'd rather we finish wherever we finish and let the lottery play itself out. If we're happily surprised and vaulted into the top three cool. Otherwise we're still getting a great player.

I agree with that.

I hate the new format especially because finishing last tanking or not, sabres or not, guarentees you nothing.

Honestly the way the cap may be headed along with monster contracts for the top players, you will see more teams saying (frank) it and bottoming out when they know they dont have a chance at signing a FA or even retaining one they drafted. There is no other way to compete. And now they arent even guaranteed a shot at what they think the best draftee is that year.

I thought the hit was predatory and unnecessary. Not the first time gudas has been a scumbag either.

Id like to see him get a call from league offices at the least.

You realize Bill Daly was born in America right?

Although I agree with everything else, you can't keep adding 5 new pieces every year and expect to be good. They need to set their roster and make minor tweaks as needed. Get a season or 2 playing together, jell, both on and off-ice. Grow as a team. The foundation is laid. Now to just build the house.

Indeed it would've been, but I think that was a fool's errand from the start. They both like to have the puck too much to play well together. And based on the numbers(I forgot who posted the SN article) Eichel is already the best puck carrying forward in the league which is pretty awesome considering the players in the league, but I wonder how much of it is him trying to do it all himself whereas other players use their teammates a little more, so the numbers aren't as high as Eichel's.

Haven't heard much about this week so far. How's everyone doing in HBSL? I'm up 374.5 - 233 at the moment. I have Burns still playing tonight.

We didn't get "(frank)ed" out of it. It's a lottery, the odds were against literally every team. I think one way or another they need to add another elite piece at the draft and I don't think you can do that if you're picking outside the top 4 or 5, unless you work a trade.

To add some context, that was a segment that required the panelists to pick a team that others hadn't picked yet, detroit and toronto were already off the board.

I didn't know he was American but I still can't stand him. He seems more corrupt than Bettman. I think any player we get. Rather it's 1-6 will be a huge building block for the team. I'd like to get rid of as much dead weight as possible as well as hopefully pulling off a nice hockey trade with someone whose under performing here.

Same thing for me.

Only 30pts down but (frank)ing Panarin missed two of his 3 games and Gaudreau his first. Crawford got jack poop today as well. Same thing happened two weeks ago in a close match, Luongo (frank)ed me over.
