Im listening to these guys on GR talk about how, they are fine with what is happening. How is anyone fine with this?

There are soo many problems with this team. Cant score, cant play defense. Goalie is hot and cold.

The outcome is hopefully another top 3 pick. That is the only silver lining.

Schopp and White are about the only ones that haven't budged at least a little.

Even Coller is starting to question some moves that were made.

The foundation is almost set. Just gotta add a winger in the draft. Risto, ror, eichel, reinhart, kane.

The question is do we believe gmtm will build around these guys and have us be a playoff caliber team next year? Is Bylsma the right guy? We have the main pieces in place for the most part.

I just look at other franchises and I feel better. It took Chicago, Pittsburgh a couple years of bottoming out. This will be year three for us. If we aren't fighting for a playoff spot next season I will begin to panic. I do however dislike that we have a gm that will grossly overpay for players he perceives to be great. I know we went from one extreme to another with gms but I'd like a gm that is a mix of both. You gotta know when to hangup and so no.

However I do like the fact that gmtm targeted Larkin as a guy he desperately wanted. He was trying everything to get that pick. So he does seem to evaluate talent in young guys pretty good

This team has a bare cupboard, and deperately needs help on the wing and on defense.

We will ideally get help come draft time on the wing with Laine or Puju, but then again it comes to, who off of this roster is moved to get defense.

But i was told Edmonton forwards probably were not that good, because they keep finishing last?

This may not be you, but i feel that we are trying to downplay just how good McDavid is, because we lost out on him. The kid is a superstar already. He is going to play half a season and win the calder.

Neither does McDavid.

His line last night

Eberle- 4 points
McDavid- 5 points
Pouliot- 4 points

McDavid is already better than Taylor Hall

This team is still really, really bad. Call that sky falling if you wan't. There is a lot of work left to do to make this team into a contender.

Trust me I was very sad when EDM got that pick and we didn't...however I rly havn't doubted McDavid's amazingness...i'm just saying...you're going to put up more points with Taylor Hall on your wing than Brian Gionta

I just love how everyone is all in a panic. If this is how they looked all season, I'd be really worried. But they haven't. They've had good stretches and bad ones. It was exactly what I expected to see.

No one expected 30th. Some said bottom 5, some said middle of the pack, some said playoffs.

I expected to see a more competitive team, and that's what we've seen so far this year. When the season is over, I don't expect them to be in 30th. However, I'm not going to cry about it if it does happen. Overall, the product on the ice is better. They've improved.

And spare me the "They were intentionally bad last year, they couldn't do anything but improve" lecture. There are plenty of stats that show how much they've improved. Unfortunately, the standings don't quite reflect that. I'm still not freaking out though.

Mcdavid getting points from assists means he has linemates that score. We don't have that.

But don't they a little? If im remembering right about this time last year we KNEW we had 30th locked down and it only came into question like the last week of the season when Toronto Edmonton and Arizona did their impressive tank jobs. At least this year we're battling to get out

I agree. This is a much different team and when all is said and done, I don't think we end up in 30th.

Moving on from all this....

I really like Bailey's game last night. Thought he brought good energy and did well in his first ever NHL game.
