I agree. This is a much different team and when all is said and done, I don't think we end up in 30th.
Moving on from all this....
I really like Bailey's game last night. Thought he brought good energy and did well in his first ever NHL game. - HonkFortheGoose
I agree on Bailey. Team would be better keeping him up here a while. |

Play him with Eichel. Its better than Matt Moulson.
Is Moulson are new Ville Leino?
Maybe if the cap goes down the NHL does an additional buyout clause where it does not affect the cap. One can hope!!! |

But don't they a little? If im remembering right about this time last year we KNEW we had 30th locked down and it only came into question like the last week of the season when Toronto Edmonton and Arizona did their impressive tank jobs. At least this year we're battling to get out - Havic3814
2014-2015 Sabres - Intentionally bad to draft Jack Eichel
2015-2016 Sabres- Added two top 6 players (Kane, Eichel) infused 2 2nd overall picks ( that are performing) Added a supposed top 4 defensemen (Franson) and are still just a point above the Leafs (who are intentionally tanking)
I think concerns are legit.
That being said, the sky is not falling |

I definitely think they'd be better off sending Catenacci back down before Bailey. Yesterday was Catenacci's 3rd game, and out of those 3 games, I've noticed him for all of 1 shift. |

Unfortunately Catenacci may be out for awhile. Hopefully he is ok. But that shot from Gudas was nasty. |

We've also been without one of our top 6 forwards most of the year.
Plus, we've seen that when this team comes together and everything is clicking, they're good. It just hasn't happened with any regularity. I think a good portion of the problem there, is the injuries they've dealt with. |

Gudas is a dirty player. How he gets away with the stuff he does, I'll never understand. |

Not sure I agree. If we have been good this year it has been for very short spurts.
This team is close to dead last in a lot of statistical categories.
5 on 5 this team barely ever scores. That's a major issue |

If they were to play like they did for Mcginns goal last night more often. we wouldn't have any concerns. |

I understand that but i think a lot has happened this year that people didn't really see coming... the drop in production from Moulson, Ennis and Girgs have to speak for something, some of it may be injury related but you're easily collectively missing 20 goals from those 3 right now alone. And each one of those players were thought to get 20 goals on the year... you might get 20 combined if they come back soon and Moulson eats all the wheaties in the world |

1.69 g/60 in 5 on 5. Only team that is worse is NJ. After that, no one is even close. |

When do injuries stop becoming an excuse and start becoming a concern that we have guys that just cant stay healthy? |

Ennis doesn't have a huge history of injuries. He only has 1 other season where he missed a lot of time with injury. Other than that, he's typically only missed a few games each year. |

How is playing in the NHL a bad thing for a while? Being on the roster and in the press box, sure, but playing against the elites of the hockey world is pretty damn good |

My point was that it was the average expectation that we would get about 20 goals from each of those players in a healthy season.. and they have not been cept Moulson. Can't go expecting 20 goals in 84 games when they're only playing 60 or less |

I never understood the, Playing in the AHL gets you better experience.
Would you rather play against, guys who are struggling to make it, or guys who just cant cut it. Or the top athletes in the sport.
Which one is better? |

This current GM is the one that signed these two long term, and traded for Bogo who is signed long term
That's around 14 mil for 3 guys that barely contribute anything.
My concern is more with what Murray is going to do going forward to bring this team from probably really good within the next two years, to great in order to eventually win a cup. I'm not convinced he's the GM to do it.
He seems like he has an ego about who he likes, and completely disregards potential players outside of them. |

I understand it, since sometimes those players may get scratched, or play very few minutes, but Bailey looked impressive and played over 11 minutes (more than people like Foligno, Legwand, and even Deslauriers who was written in as 1st line winger). I see no reason he needs to go back - especially with yet another injury now (Catenacci) |

His work in the crease was impressive.. Cannot believe he didnt put one of those in the net in the 1st period. Great goaltending by Mason. I think they should keep him here as well. Put him with some better players (Eichel) and see if they can get anything going together. Plus who doesnt like rooting for a home town kid? |
