Oh come on, you're grasping at straws here. You know that means nothing. Talk about his goal scoring but all star game is the last thing that matters.

your right, agents never throw that out in negotiations

I personally love Ladd as a UFA... but he is goign to request BIG money. I've heard in the 6.5M per year range.
- JVince11

Not sure how much thought would go into this but, Im pretty sure Kane and Ladd did not get along in Winnepeg?

Otherwise im interested

and if he stays dinged for a bit in both years, and puts up 15 points a year, your getting 40 cents on the dollar when right now you can get 80 cents
- homiedclown

I get it...but I think it's a good gamble

Not sure what you expect for a 3rd line player. I think he's had a rough year but 15 points hasn't been his trend. If he can shut down their forwards, and still put up points as a 3rd line center then I'm happy. If it's 15 each year then yeah that's not great. But I don't think he only gets 15/year.

that's a tough one...he's 30, which is way at the top-end of murray's ideal...might be able to balance that out with term...5 yrs./$32m for a player with two cup rings on two different teams doesn't seem all that outlandish and may be as high as the sabres could go
- Michael Pachla

watching moulson decline makes me want no part of getting players over 30 on long term deals up front

I think they're buying at the TDL. Maybe there's more than one quacker in the pipeline to be had.
- Der Kaiser

There absolutely is and Im not saying they shouldn't pursue it, but I don't think a pending ufa and girgs is enough. Then again i don't know what the elder murray wants.

Vatanen
Lindholm
Montour
Theodore

I'd take anyone of them and they will probably need to move one. My guess is it's Vatanen that gets moved for a top 6 fwd.

I expect him to be on the second line, there are 2 slots open and the coach refuses to plug him in up there

he should be on second line, pk duties and second team pp

he is not being used right on this team

You're telling me you think Girgensons is going to get an extra 1M for being voted into an all star game? You're kidding yourself. He'll get 3.5 for 2 or maybe up to 4 and it won't be that big of a deal.

Not sure where this fear of the cap is. We have ways to lower cap. Gionta has 1 year. Gorges has 2. They'll both be gone by the time we have to pay people. There are ways to get rid of Moulson's salary, or at least parts of it. We'll worry about the cap when we have to. Worrying about 500k on Girgensons and McGinn are not our big concerns

I know alot of People are already penciling in our draft pick this year into the line up for next season. But with the exception of Matthews and maybe Puljujärvi, im not so sure the rest are ready for NHL action just yet. At least not ready to contribute at a high level

Girgensons should be on the 3rd line next year. If he's on your 2nd line your second line isn't that great. His defensive skills are better than his offensive and he should be used the best way. Put him in the tough situations and also expect him to contribute some.

So many avenues Murray could take this off-season. Normally Id be dreading us doing virtually nothing.

my guess is he gets 3.5 mil per on a 3 year deal

the all star game will probably cost .5mil over the length of the deal, or .17mil roughly per season

Cant be relied on to stay healthy. He is going to end up missing 60+ games in the first three years of his career due to injury. That is a huge concern.

I bet on a good team (i.e top 6 good enough where mcginn plays third line) he would be contributing more on the third line.

somebody suggested moving kane over to the right side and I really like that idea...target ladd this off season for left wing
- Michael Pachla

As long as Kane's here, Ladd won't be.

Just happy that no one is fretting over goaltending any more. VERY pleased with how Lehner has performed since returning. Threw a lot of those ney-sayers under the bus about that trade SO FAR.

Tkchuck would have to go to the OHL, so they might rather keep him up. Laine I've heard people saying he can step in right away and some saying give him a year. He could go to the AHL I believe.

you don't draft a player 14th overall to be a plugger on the third line

let him jam down low on the second line and open the ice up for eichel and kane

Most cases, the team makes the goaltender. There are exceptions but you end up paying 8 mil for those.

it's why I would move him, as long as he is a 3rd liner on this team

we suck and he is on the third line

14th overall pick, put up .5 ppg last year and this coach would rather bury him on the third line and lose every game 2-1
or 7-4

Jordan Staal looked pretty damn good on Pitts third line.

Then that's fine. That amount wouldn't do anything to the cap that it would hurt us
