There's like a 5% chance of that happening. If you go back and look at the guys that have gotten offer sheets, they're not exactly the same type of player as Girgensons.

I want to see the Oil finish as far back as possible even if that means Toronto gets a better player. Their refusal to address their defense issue has gone far too long and should not be rewarded yet again.

No they changed that rule, because of just that. guys were being buried in teh Minors with 5+MM contracts. I think it is a max of 300K, it might be 500K

McCormick is on LTIR right now and if I'm remembering correctly, he only had a 2 year deal. This would be the 2nd of that, so he'll fall off the books after this year (I could be wrong though).

The changes should have already been made. No team should be able to pick 1st in back to back years. I'm okay with no team being able to pick top 3 after having picked first.

He's going to be here more than 2 more years. You're panicking for no reason. He doesn't get UFA status until he has 7 years in the league or is 27 years old. He's on year 3 right now. So minimum we have him for at least 4 more.
