Dude Eichel's played 55 games of his NHL career. To say he can't be Lemieux to McDavid's Gretsky is asinine.

Too bad I've heard more than three people who know more about hockey then anyone on here compare Eichel to Lemieux this year.

I was kinda using the SAT version of comparisons, as in McDavid is to Gretzky as Eichel is to blank.

Im a simpleton, chose Getzlaf cuz he is really good and has a G and Z in his name.

I don't think he'll score as much as Lemieux did, but he does have a big frame and will be a beast to play against for years to come. Get this kid some wingers and a coach who doesn't frank with the lines so much!

I'm not arguing that. I'm not arguing at all, really. I'm happy to have Jack and I wish McDavid wasn't in the hellhole that is Edmonton so we could see him more too. Love the game when there are players like them playing it.

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I remember distinctively hearing it on ESPN, NBC sports and I believe Briere said it earlier in the year on WGR as well.

All i was meaning to say is to DOUBLE production no matter who or where you are playing is a crazy thought.

Then I say no thanks. That is the contract I would offer. I structure it so he gets 15-20MM up front.

Otherwise the contract will become a detriment when it is time to sign Eichel, Reinhart, Risto.

It is ridiculous to compare eichel to lemieux. Barring injury he may have surpassed gretzkys records, if not he would have easily been right behind him.

Its a different NHL these days, but it is unfair to all of lemieux, gretzky, mcdavid and eichel to be comparing them. Mcdavid is better than eichel. Period. He always will be no matter who is playing on his line and the anger/disappointment murray displayed at the draft lottery says it all.

Now, none of this has anything to do with building a team to win the cup because i believe eichel can be the major piece on a roster with cup aspirations. I am glad mcdavid is buried in edmonton for the foreseeable future.
