Had some extra brain cells too kill. - cabin
haha love it...
I can't decide... Most mock drafts have Laine going before Puljujarvi but I feel like most on here would put Puljujarvi over Laine.
I also know that alot of people put basically
1 McDavid
2A Eichel
2B Matthews
But I am curious of where Laine and Puljujarvi rank compared to guys like Barkov, MacKinnon, Drouin, Reinhart, Strome, Marner, Draistail, Bennett. |

Althought I agree with you that Gudas did not stick his leg out any further to make sure he made contact with Foligno... they should be a level of respect for players in this league amongst eachother that when he saw Foligno cut and dish the puck... to avoid knee to knee contact he should have altered his course. He didn't.
Dude thinks he is tough and trying to make a name for himself because he has a college team coach trying to run an NHL franchise and doesn't have the balls to have a back bone. No place for that kind of garbage in this league any more. - JVince11
College coach "trying to run" a NHL franchise.
Wow! Don't know where to start with this one.
Coaches come from all over. He's had success at the college level and has done a decent job at this level being a rookie coach. Many NHL "experts" believe the Flyers are overachieving.
Let's get his straight, Ron Hextall is running the Flyers franchise. Even Ed Snider has taken a step back. Ron has done an excellent job since coming in full time and has learned from the best out in LA. |

I agree. But if you're going to lump fighters like Shelley and Cote in with cheap guys like Carcillo and Rinaldo, then I can do the same to Ott and Weber. That's why I used them.
Shelley and Cote were awful hockey players who existed to do nothing but fight and hit. But aside from 1 4-gamer for Cote, I don't remember him doing much cheap stuff. - jmatchett383
Barnaby/ Kaleta= Carcillo/ Rinaldo
Gudas is "this close" to tilting the ledger your way. Buffalo hasn't had any other cheap shot artists in the class these 4 (soon to be 5) guys are in.

2-1. As in the season series. Enjoy those 14 regulation wins. Second worst team in the league feeding on garbage points. But hey, they inflate your awful teams standings to make sure you draft middling prospects and stay garbage. At least your guys can deliver solid head shots. |

Gudas is a perplexing guy. He started off the season throwing hard, clean hits. But since the AS Game, he's been on the dirty (if not penalized) side more and more.
Still, regardless of whether he is, it wasn't about having more/less, more the point that both teams have had their share of players in the past. |

I still cannot believe that this is the actual lineup that Toronto put on the ice last night and now McJesusGretzky is blowing up for beating a team that is probably worse than some OHL teams he beat last year.

I don't believe it.
Stamkos seems to be getting pushed out of TB and hates playing on the wing. Toronto is his home town even if his family has moved down to TB.
Not many teams could afford to pay him 10-12M per year and they are one of them.
Him with Marner and Nylander plus most like one of Matthews, Laine, or Puljujarvi would be a scary thing. |

Sabres fans are delusional about Barnaby and Kaleta. They want Kaleta on the team NOW! They were both garbage players. Barnaby was a joke. Kaleta is a hometown boy so people see through rose colored glasses on him (although he was very nice to my kid once after a peewee practice). The league is way better without those types of players. Would love to see these types of players go the way of the dinosaur. I also think Marchand is probably the worst in that he's dirty, runs away and hides when he does dirty stuff, then scores; but it's Boston so it's ok. I gather a Philly fan would agree with me on this one. |

My guess is that he lands in Detroit. Definitely not Buffalo as he wants to play center and our top 2 center spots are taken. We don't need a center! (haven't said that in about 20 years). We need scoring wingers!!!

Detroit could be a dream spot ofr him...
but they are 2.5M OVER the cap right now.
Richards 3M, Helm 2.1M, Miller 1.3M, Quincey 4.25M are coming off the books
BUT
Sheahan, Dekeyser, and most notably.. Mrazek are RFAS. Tatar and Jurco are RFAs in 2017. Larkin in 2018.
That'd be absolute magic if it could work in their cap. |

They could make it happen. I guess I should call them a dark horse but they always seem to be able to pull things off. Toronto-no. Buffalo- not a chance. New Jersey wouldn't surprise me either.

I see Anaheim as the landing spot for Stamkos even though they already have Getzlaf and Kesler at center.
They 8.8M in cap space.
Perron 3.8M, Horcoff 1.75M, Stewart 1.7M are coming off the books.
Rakell, Vatanen, Lindholm, and Andersen are RFAs which could be a little money there but not a ton especially with how well Gibson is at Goalie for them right now.
They still have Ritchie, and Noesen in their minors to call up with Silfverberg, Perry, Getzlaf, Perry, and Kesler.
Bieksa, Fowler, Vatanen, and Lindholm on D.
I think they could be a DOMINATING team and could do it all together realistically in their cap. |

Supposedly.... TM and Yzerman had a trade in place for Stamkos to come to Buffalo at the draft but Stamkos wouldn't wave his NTC so we traded for ROR instead.
It was rumored to have been Reinhart, Zads, Grigo, and our 1st in 2017 I think IF he was resigned.
TM likes him for sure. |

Be careful... even talking about him on a blog might result in him suffering some sort of injury. |
