You're 3 points ahead of us and our best player has been out for most of the season. He also happens to lead the league in PPG

Your best player is a 19 year old rookie who just played in his 20th NHL game. I wouldn't get into a "who's team is more pathetic contest". Especially considering the fact that you have 3 former first overalls on your team

Wow! A lot of Russell hate. It's funny some on here say how bad Russell is but in the same breath think he'll fetch a 1st round pick.,

I think Russell could be an excellent pick up for a team looking for d depth, and who could use him in a role that better suits his game. Also, there is the fact that Russell (much like Lucic) has a perceived value that many believe exceeds his actual value. A late 1st could be a reasonable expectation for many GMs around the league.

I was responding to you're wonderful addition to the comments section that simply said McDavid. You guys are just so f'n hilarious how you look at your team. So what you're saying is, people shouldn't expect much from your team when your best player, an 18 year old, isn't there to make your team competitive. After more than a 1/2 decade of high picks, including 4....4! 1st overalls, you still think your latest child star is going to lead you to the promised land. Hall, RNH, Yaks, Drais and Nurse shouldn't be expected to help the team through adversity. Never change Oiler fans, never change.

I see he's giving Hiller another chance after Friday's stinker. Hiller is obviously a huge bust in his time with the Flames and I'm not sure Hartley's to blame for that. There aren't many other options at goal unfortunately.

To be fair to Hiller, without his start last season there is a good chance that we wouldn't have made the playoffs. He stole multiple games for us last year including that one against Chicago where we were outshot something like 52-18 or something ridiculous. It wasn't until the end of the year that Ramo actually began to outlplay him (then he was hurt, again, in a similar fashion). So I wouldn't really call him a total bust.
