So Stamkos thing. At seasons end, if he is not resigned, we need to trade for his rights. Deal could then be 8 years (not limit of 7), if Stamkos approves of course.
Dream scenario would be Stamkos wanting to play for Toronto, but realizes they are not ready to make playoffs, signs with Sabres for 3-5 years.
Doubt that would happen, but never know.
Other side of it, if he was doing a 3-5 year deal, other teams might have an advantage over us (currently better suited for playoff wings).

still 7, have to be with a team for a full season to get the 8 year clause. Thats why ROR was traded when he was, gives teams the option to extend him for 8 years instead of 7 with 1 year left on current deal

Tim Murray will defend Kane....I'm sure of it - sbroads24
i think he has to.. you never want your GM selling his player out down the river.
That said im sure the conversation with the player will be different.

Looks like he would have to be moved by deadline to get 8 years. Nevermind then.

Never said he should. But maybe he shouldn't be so "elated" with him right now

1 calendar year with Kane -
1 Sexual assault "investigation"
1 Team issued suspension
1 Injury that kept him out 10 games
I'm really trying to like him......But seriously how can we count on him being here when it matters? - sbroads24
Sounds like that went away without anything happening
He is being suspended for his one real screw up this year. You're still reaching IMO. He was injured where are your Ennis and Girgensons hot takes since they have missed more time than Kane?

They are still waiting for tox results. It's likey no charges will be filed though.
The woman doesn't know if any assault occurred because she doesn't remember a thing. It was the hospital that initiated the investigation based on her lack of memory

He'll probably say we are aware of the situation and will handle it internally. Same answer any GM would give.. Im sure it isnt all roses for kane right now
