I doubt he's signing with anyone for 3-5 years
Also, he's young still
Why is it optimal for us to sign him to a 3 year deal instead of 7? - jdfitz77
I don't want anything to do with Stamkos on the Sabres....timelines don't line up.
We'll be stuck with a $10M salary come time when is production is going down and we'll need to pay our own stars in Eichel, Risto, and Reinhart......gotta look at the big picture during a rebuild
GMs don't typically trade guys when they're at their lowest value. - nikel
If he comes back fully healthy and has a few good games before the deadline Murray should trade him before he resorts back to the player he was at the beginning of the year. Get him and his salary out while you can still get something good for him.
It's not a big deal to party, it's sort of an issue if you can't make it to practice because of it. - sbroads24
I guess no one in here has ever called in to work because they had a few too many pops the night before. By the way, we are all assuming he just got hammered at the game. I'm not saying I think he didn't drink at all, but we don't really know anything.

He won the Sabres skills competition. He has sick trade value.

Why do you think that?
If anything he'd go back to the Finnish leagues he came from. - nikel
Sure, Finnish league than. My point was Armia is basically done in the NHL, he doesn't have it. He was drafted 5 years ago and has developed very poorly. He has less than 10 NHL games in all this time and like 4 points. Winnipeg fans will sell him as a late bloomer, but anybody who has watched him play knows that the chances of him turning things around at this point are slim to none.
That might've been true 5 years ago but the Russian economy is not what it was then. A lot of the KHL teams that were offering those big deals simply do not have the wherewithal to do so now.

Russian law states you have to be paid in Rubles, and right now they are worth next to nothing in USD. Dont think there will be be any NHL guys going over to play in the KHL for a long time.

I disagree, that's very short sighted.
He's been our work horse and only reliable guy the past 3+ seasons and you're going to get rid of him the first time he has some adversity?.....dang, we wouldn't be able to field a team if we ditched guys going through injury or droughts......or as in Ennis's case, both.

I don't care what he did or did not do.
What I do know is that Bylsma was pissed and he's sitting for a game.
Again, if we were fighting for a playoff spot, would this not be annoying?

I don't think ennis is needed if we can get a defenseman for him why not trade him
Too bad about Kane, not THAT big of a deal I dont think, OV, Gaudreau, Monahan, Kadri etc have all done it. Kane has a bit of a history, but hopefully he learns from this. Sounds like he called ahead which is somewhat responsible, maybe there were special circumstances with flights, which shouldn't excuse him but it's better than sleeping in hungover. He'll miss the game, apologize, and that would hopefully be the end of it.
I don't think that's true at all and I do think he'll be gone on the deadline for defenseman - gerbe75pts
EDIT: ok, sure he might be traded at the deadline, but I guarantee you, you won't be happy with the return. No way his current value fetches a 2nd paring Dman....poopt, we don't even know the injury, just that it's concussion related, that does not put GMTM into dealing from a position of strength.

It seems to me that Disco Dan is butthurt that Kane didn't tell him he was going to Toronto last night. Last I checked adults can do what they want in their free time.

Kane overslept. He didn't call in because of flight issues
no, but this is his job as professional athletes. Would your work be ok with you missing time bc you partied to much the night before and couldn't make it in that day? - DDM-Coga
