Agreed. He seems like a great guy, and I wish him well and want him to be apart of the teams core moving forward. I just reject that a 24-year-old who is paid millions isn't expected to be held to a standard that his employers set forth as team policy. If, 18-year-olds can be handed a gun and accept the responsibly of going to war, than I feel that it is ridiculous to say that players like Kane or kassian with is drug issues, that it is too much to ask them not to jack-offs for a multi million dollar a year salary. Millions would gladly take their places.

Look, he's went into the job being told he's going to be held to a higher standard. Every team has P.R. people hired to help these players adapt to the higher standard they are going to be held to. This is not a bomb dropped on these players, they know what is expected of them. If they choose to ignore the requirements of the job, they need to held accountable, like everyone else at their jobs is. Any player deserves the benefit of the doubt, but when their actions become chronic they need to be held accountable.

So now we are comparing him to a soldier going to war . All I can say is wow . Because those are heroes. and role models. Athletes minds are little different and they live a different lifestyle.

And some make more than others. Evander Kane is no longer one of the "others". The punishment fits the crime and it will be done and overwith. However, Kane's past makes him deserving of all the criticism he gets. A smart person with his track record would be a lot more vigilant. He's less of a young person who made a mistake and more of a person with a low IQ who is really good at finding trouble. Fortunately, the Sabres are in a position to walk away without much consequence if they need to.

A normal 24 year does not have 50k people tuning in to watch him wait on tables at TGI Fridays, a normal 24 year old does not have people watching him perform his job at ripping ticket stubs at his job as an usher at the local movie theater. A 24 year old is not paid 4 million a year for his services that a typically normal 24 year can provide. So to state that Kane should be held to no higher standard than Timmy, the local kid down the street is ridiculous.

these guys are NHL players are groomed from early on to expect chit coming at them, and they need to rise above it. Some do, some don't. Kane is looking more and more like he can't do that. And, he's had problems in Winnipeg too, that's why he was trade to us, he has a track record of being and a$$, he's not innocent of everything that's transpired there.

Witnesses at the bar said he was only defending himself . thus no charges were pressed against him . I got in a few bar scraps in my day . Never started them but always finished them . I am not a bad guy and at the time it was mostly to stop a bully from picking on some poor schmuk. The dine and dashes were never substantiated when it came down to it either .
