Is it me or do these quotes make it sound as Gio and the team are a little ticked at Kane.

Brian Gionta didn’t want to go into full details about what Kane said to the team. The captain did say, “He came to the team yesterday and addressed the team, besides that I’m going to leave it as an in room issue. He apologized and that’s where we’ll leave it.”

Kane has missed practice twice with the first time being December 27 when he was put under investigation for a sexual assault case. Gionta said, “It is the second time, but as teammates we’re going to take him for his word and go from there.”

I also wondered if Gionta was concerned with Kane moving forward. He took a big sigh, hesitated and said, “It’s obviously something that’s happened, but we’re going to support him in trying to rectify the problem.

Which is funny because i think one of the major flaws of the NHL is that they don't market/hype their star players enough.

They should be hyping the poop out of the March 1st game. I only found out about it through the radio and Im a fan of one of the two teams

This rookie class is phenomenal. Not sure why so many people on here are complaining about it.

Then again, I just skimmed. I really don't care what any of you (frank)ers have to say.

It goes back to what Coga said earlier. McGinn really doesn't give you much of an all aroud game (i.e pk, 4 on 4, shootout specialist etc.) so the willingness to give a top 50 pick just to see him walk after isn't as high as most think.

That 2nd could be good ammo at the draft as well. Odds are some team gives him 4x4, too. That'd be a bit much for my tastes.

3rd liner on a cup contending team, Hes not the home run asset teams would be looking for to part with 2nd rounders, especially if they package a pick up with a prospect to take a run at Ladd or Boedker, etc.

I see him getting more value if Sabres are willing to take a bad 1 year contract back to help a team (like the hawks) out

If they play this right they could have three 2nds and three thirds for this draft. Makes parting with prospects for that top pair guy a little easier if you can replace them. \

Or you could use the picks to move up into the first round and use that pick as trade bait.

Speaking of Hawks and bad contracts, how the (frank) did the Pens get them to take Scuderi? Dude's already on waivers

would Sabres be willing to retain McGinn 50% (1.475m) for remainder of season for Bickell 1m retained (3m cap hit next year), 1st rounder, and a good prospect?

Hawks get McGinn, a little more cap relief this season, but get rid of Bickell for the price 1st and prospect someone taking him.

I wouldnt be shocked to see some sort of deal out of the Hawks

I get that some want to keep McGinn because they want to see a team actually be built and stay together, but if you get the chance to have at least 6 picks in the first 3 rounds, you take it. Those picks could be very valuable in the near future, whatever Murray chooses to do with them.

Id do it, he's only got 1 year left right? Then next season both he and gionta come off the books when we want to make a play in free agency.

Edit: Good prospect would be good, obviously.

I would honestly rather just keep McGinn.

Want no part of Bickell and that 1st will probably be 27-30

McGinn at 2.1 or 2MM sounds a lot better than McGinn at $3MM. Hell take 50% of it. 1.5MM for McGinn sounds great.

If they do that deal, and need to pay Bickell next year, would they have enough room for Stamkos. lol

Ditch Franson for a 2nd and who knows what you get for Foligno/Larsson

Buf 1st
Chi 1st

some idiots 2nd
our 2nd

our three thirds

And whoever that good prospect is, quite a bit of ammo to work with on draft day.

dont know the hawks prospects that well, so dont want to toss out names, but would have to be someone of decent value

I don't think a 2nd at this point is realistic
