There were people convinced Franson was worth 5-6 mil.
James Tanner thinks he's a borderline #1-2 defensemen.
I wish a GM overvalued him like that |

IIRC Franson was asking for 6MM to start. |

Tanner thinks Franson and Gardiner are the best defensemen in the NHL after OEL.

Only just noticed this but this isn't true at all and the 2nd part has for the most part been true of Eichel (though that includes assists as well). Having a handful of penalty kill minutes does not make you a two way forward, especially if you're not good at it.
Eichel still struggles 5v5 in his own end and when his line is out they concede a poop ton of shot attempts against and give up quite a few high danger scoring chances. This ok given his line mates and that he is in fact a rookie, but he is not the only two way forward in his rookie class and more importantly isn't a two way forward, yet.
Wanna hear an actual interesting fact? The best two way forward rookie in this class is (probably) Sam Reinhart. - Sabresfan-365
He's good on the rush, because of his speed back checking. But he's also bad on the rush, because he's out of position a fair bit. Just like Risto. Same with sustained pressure. He'll learn in time when to use his speed and when to stay home and get in the lane. |

Yep both will hopefully learn over time. For a long time there has been this theory amongst fans and media that if the guy doesn't move around a lot in his own end he's "lazy" and "standings still doing nothing" which couldn't be less true. Risto and Eichel both need to learn to do a little more standing still (in the right position of course). |

Yeah those 2 games last week against Florida and Philly there was a lot of moving, but both teams were able pass and shoot at will. |

would Sabres be willing to retain McGinn 50% (1.475m) for remainder of season for Bickell 1m retained (3m cap hit next year), 1st rounder, and a good prospect?
Hawks get McGinn, a little more cap relief this season, but get rid of Bickell for the price 1st and prospect someone taking him.
I wouldnt be shocked to see some sort of deal out of the Hawks - DDM-Coga
I'd do that deal
Idk if Murray would. Actually, I don't think the Hawks would give up a 1st to get rid of Bickell.
I think it's a fair proposal though |

Is it me or do these quotes make it sound as Gio and the team are a little ticked at Kane.
Brian Gionta didn’t want to go into full details about what Kane said to the team. The captain did say, “He came to the team yesterday and addressed the team, besides that I’m going to leave it as an in room issue. He apologized and that’s where we’ll leave it.”
Kane has missed practice twice with the first time being December 27 when he was put under investigation for a sexual assault case. Gionta said, “It is the second time, but as teammates we’re going to take him for his word and go from there.”
I also wondered if Gionta was concerned with Kane moving forward. He took a big sigh, hesitated and said, “It’s obviously something that’s happened, but we’re going to support him in trying to rectify the problem.

Ditch Franson for a 2nd and who knows what you get for Foligno/Larsson
Buf 1st
Chi 1st
some idiots 2nd
our 2nd
our three thirds
And whoever that good prospect is, quite a bit of ammo to work with on draft day. - Sabresfan-365
Agree
We have a lot of forward prospects we can add into a potential deal as well
Except I'm not looking to trade Larsson or Foligno
Unless it's part of a package to bring in a top pair defenseman or better young forward

Yes. I think that is a good comparison. Thought that myself before.
