Cal Petersen has looked very solid in net for ND, .932 save%, 18-5-2 record with 2.06 GAA, on a very young Irish squad. ND was not ranked to start the season but they are now ranked 7th nationally and are leading Hockey East by 1 point over BC with each team having 4 games left. also Connor Hurley has also started figuring things out it seems. He has already surpassed his goal and point total from his freshman year and is a +10. Hurley is 6'2'' 190lbs, he still has some filling out to do but I still think he has a chance to become a NHL 3rd liner. There is my ND update if any were interesrted

They showed their games on NBCsports this past Friday & Saturday against Maine

I never liked that pick, but Hurley has looked good lately
He's still got time left at ND, and then to the AHL for him
Maybe he develops into a guy we can bring up if we eventually have to move on from Larsson, Ennis, etc
Or maybe we just package him in a trade?

From here on out, I'd like to see the Sabres...

1) trade McGinn, Legwand, Weber, C.Johnson, Franson & Moulson (if possible) for whatever picks we can get
* more ammo for trades

2) draft in the top5, preferably top3
* I'm looking for a forward here, but if Chychrun is there at 5 I'm very ok with him being the guy we take

3) trade Fasching + (picks, or prospects like Karabacek, Carrier, or even both) for a good young defenseman (Fowler, Trouba, etc)
* even if we get Chychrun
* yeah, I'd rather trade Fasching than Girgensons or Ennis

4) sign Stamkos
* I'm not too worried about the cap, I think we can make it work just fine

5) make the playoffs next year, maybe pull an upset or 2?
* with added scoring, defense & Lehner continuing to play well, I think we def make it


All of that seems at least "fairly" plausible IMO

How I see it. It is concerning to me that Kane did this and he has a checkered past.

I don't see his first offense as something we should oust him for, but he needs to prove that this will not be a re-occurring issue and that his past does not repeat.

Pretty much. Company policy is there for a reason. Wasn't the issue of going to the allstar game , It was not making it back in time. Don't think it will happen again. imo
