Any Habs you think WE could grab ? They might be blowing it up sooner than later.

They aren't trading guys that would fit into our timeline
Prob just older guys

They are TEARING NURSE APART on that blog... wow.

I can't tell if it is more MacLaren for playing him top line minutes when he isn't ready or what...

One of them said that they heard about a Schultz for Franson swap... I never heard that.

They are basically calling Yakupov an absolute tire fire there... for a former 1st overall pick to be torn up that quick... man alive...

I bet they want to trade him for anything possible.

I wouldn't mind taking a chance for a guy like Franson and a 2nd or 3rd round pick but I'm not touching any winger prospects for him.

Yeah, but they aren't giving up The Nuge AND a high pick this year...
No way

I actually don't think they even need to trade RNH

Schultz could get them a decent top4 defenseman from someone
Yakupov prob could too (someone will take a chance)
I'd send them a 2nd & Franson for Yak

They've got Klefbom & Nurse as guys that'll be top4 for years
2 solid guys, like Hamhuis for example, will solidify that defense enough

Goalie is still an issue too with them

One of ours, it was brought up here not too long ago. No dice for me, Schultz looks like he's europe bound.

I forgot where,
But I did hear Franson to Edmonton as a possibility
Also, that Schultz needs a change of scenery & could still get a decent return back for them

Schultz could actually be the "offensive" defenseman we could be looking for
Guys like him often take quite a while to figure out their own end
Think Campbell

I'd take a shot on Yakupov too
None of our top winger prospects... But if they wanted someone like Carrier or thrown into the deal is be more than ok with that

I don't know.

It was amazing that in all of that and talk about not having an offensive minded guy no one brought up Risto. I think that Risto is a very strong offensive minded guy. Better than Myers.

I think I'd trade Ruhwedel in there too. Seems like a fringe bottom pairing guy.

I liked him in his draft year A LOT
we made some questionable pick in that draft IMO
Also like Duclair & Buchnevich that went 3rd round, after we took Baptiste (although he surprised me that next year. Hope he can keep developing)

I wanted Santini over Hurley in the 2nd
Pissed about that still
I think he'll end up being a solid, poop-down dman

was that the same year we picked Hurley in the 2nd over Barbashev as well???

I was REALLLLLY mad about that one. I think Barbashev would have been amazing to have in this team's cupboard right now.

EDIT: We took Lemioux over Barbashev.... AND Demko!!! GOD DAMN IT!!!

The convo originally started with "besides Risto"
I think Ruhwedel & Donovan could be really nice 6,7,8 type guys for us
Idk that we'd get anything much for them,
But if I had to add one to a package to get a deal done, then sure

Donovan has actually been showing some offensive skills lately in Roch
Had a hat trick in a game I watched a couple weeks ago

Yeah, you're talking about 2014 with Barbashev
The other draft was 2013

I saw 2 Norte dame games this past weekend (nbc sports) though & Hurley did look good
Nice to see him progressing
If he doesn't find a roster spot here eventually, he could be a decent trade chip for us

I actually was cheering for both McDavid and Eichel to do great even though McDavid went to EDM... but the absolute arrogance of some writers and any one from Canada is just beyond f'n baffling to me.

Just completely disregards the rest of the NHL. People calling a kid who has played 21 games the best player int he entire league and the most important and everyone else is just half as good. I now actually hate the f'n kid just because other people have made him out to be some McJesusGretzky of Hockey.

I want Eichel and McDavid to be the new Crosby and Ovechkin. Bring in the crowds, the winter classics, the prime time games on TV... I want it all.

- JVince11

While i dont really like the sometimes absurd glorifying of mcdavid the hate for him is just as absurd.

What does he have to do? He has 24pts in 20 games, sure he is a -2 but the "only two way forward rookie" eichel is a -15. If he scored at that pace over 82 games he would have 98pts, which would undoubtedly put him in second in the scoring race as a rookie. Second to a guy in kane who is having a career year, has never scored 100pts, and has never been on a 100pt pace in his career untill this year.

Before you go all 'who does eichel have to play with' on me, lets say we chip off eichel 15 extra points for arguments sake which is generous, and that still doesnt put him at a ppg.

Stop hating on him, the arrogance to completely disregard what he is doing because he went to edmonton instead of here is baffling. Why cant people appreciate what he is doing and be glad that it is being done somewhere which will have little to no effect on the sabres unless they meet in a cup final.

I am right now just realizing that our Rochester team next year will be beyond f'n stacked with kids...

Defense:
Borgen
Bryce Martin
Florentino (maybe Jr)

Forwards:
Fasching (probably AHL over NHL)
Stephens (maybe)
Estephan
Cornel
Karabacek
Hurley (doubtful)
Baptiste
Bailey
Possler (maybe)
Olofsson (maybe)

Did you read ANYTHING that I put in there??? Just an honest question?

I said I was cheering for him.. I said I want there to be the competition... I never said it was a jealously thing that we didn't get him... It would have been the same way if we got McDavid and EDM got Eichel.

I said the media and others glorification.

Thanks for the post bud but I didn't say any of that.

I don't buy into it. We have said that every year regarding the Amerks. Only to have them suck wind and end up close to the bottom.
