How could Paciretty's AAV of $4.5 mill work for another three years even if they figure out a way to make it work this season? |

Because hopefully next year the $3mil of Bickels cap hit still on the books is gone via trade or buyout. |

And the fans. Until you have spent time in MTL its impossible to fully understand what affect this group has on the players. Not only do the "boo-birds" come out early in games, on EVERY phone-in show Hab players are being crucified...in fact, they can't even go out without being accosted by fans. The Canadiens in MTL is an experience unlike any other in Pro sports. This kind of player bashing has a detrimental effect on the guys, and is the main reason why (IMO) the Habs always seem to hit such LONG funks when things don't go well for them...which usually results in a coach being fired, or a member of the front office. - MexicoHawk
Thibault and Theodore were pretty much the whipping boys for that fan base for awhile because of Roy. ( Intentionally does not dare say Huet on the post for obvious reasons )

Fine, I'll do a little leg work.
...but I have the common courtesy to cut and paste links.
Sounds like the chatter he's hearing is HERE, in Chicago, since Mr. Reynolds was in town for the Hawks vs. Leafs.

Plenty of chatter about a trade for Andrew Ladd here in Chicago. |

Shaw and Kruger are up for renewal this summer, also. I'd be excited if they could pull off such a trade, but there will be some high level capology happening to make it work for another three years.

That is a nicely cost controlled contract. The deal is pie in the sky but obviously Bickell goes or salary is retained. I would think the deal would be big - TTor Dano plus Danault plus Bickell plus a 1st at least. |

Details, details...I'm just excited at the mere IDEA of Patch in Chicago.
The rest is up to SB and Co... |

Don't see the Habs taking Bickell, more like Toronto Carolina or Arizona.
It would almost be a shame to trade Teets to MTL. And if we think we Carp him too much... he would be crucified.
If we can send TT out without losing Dano or Danault I'M IN on most trades |

And I forgot that there will be Panarin bonuses to be paid out, not to mention he will have to be extended. Darling and Gustafsson will need to be extended after next year, also.
I'd love to see what that salary cap spreadsheet looks like. |

Frolik as a top liner? I don't think so...
Which brings us back to Ladd...who's really a third liner.
Next. |

Yes...and Patch is a REAL top line player, not a pretender like Ladd. |

Include Bickell.
with TT , DANO , Pokka and a couple of picks .
Thats how . They get two "top 6" NHL ready forwards , they get an NHL ready D man , plus picks . lets say a 1 and a 4 for taking Bickell off our hands .
If , and only If this is even a remote possibility |

Personally, It would take something like TT/Dano, Danult, Pokka, 1st, Bickell as a minimum...
4.5 mil for a absolute stud of a LW, awesome in in the Ozone, no slouch in his own, shooter, shooter; hard nosed, Captaincy/leadership, oh and did I mention 4.5mil for the next 3 years or however many?
IMO, TT/Dano, Danult, part of pokkas value is getting close to Patches, Part of pokkas value and the 1st gets them to take Bickell.
Hawks reunite in St. Johns with Bickell and Scott on the same line
Now, would any of us (and more importantly one monsieur Bowman) want that?
Hemorrhaging our 3rd line, the one that comes up importantly in the playoffs when top flight lines are being sent out against our top 2 lines.
As much as
Patches- Toews- Hossa
Super PAK
looks as a top 6, could we run into the playoffs with something like
Panik-Rasmussen-Sekac
Desi- Kruger (healed or not)- Shaw
???
And if patches comes in there go all/most of the trade chips we have basically...
Also role into the playoffs with the D-core we have right now which would be worrisome...
We can win with 4 proven defenders and 2 watchers, as we showed last year. But can we role with 3 proven defenders, 2 toss ups, and one 3 wheeled shopping cart?
Questions questions... |

It would take more than just Dano for MP...and the other player that they would want, the Hawks can't afford to lose right now. - MexicoHawk
Panarin or Shaw |

I would normally agree with this, but the one question I don't want to ask it, "How can we keep Panarin." So load the gun, figure out Panarin, then pull the trigger. Cannot, and should not, lose focus on Panarin. |

For Pacioretty you give them TT and Dano IMO. Multiple sources say Bergy wants Danault though.
The deal will be more likely Fleishman or at best Galchenyuk if a forward. I really do not want Emelin or Markov. |

What are the chances that he has "Bickellitis"? Kinda floats through the regular season and turns it on in the playoffs knowing that he can't take the pounding for a full season? He did show that tenacity in the finals last year... - Chunk
Bickell was the same type of player ever since the Hawks drafted him...That's why he stayed in Rockford for a very long time. I don't know enough about TT to compare him that way. But if TT has the same MO-or the front office perceives he does, he won't be here for long.

Gaborik out long term for the Kings. Sure the Kings will free up some cash and put him on LTIR. Stan better move quick! The deadline is going to be interesting!

...And opens the door for sure for a Ladd trade.
