The real insult to injury is that Dino's in the HOF and Steve Larmer is not.
Ciccarelli played in 1232 games.....608/592=1200 pts
Larmer played in 1006 games.....441/571=1012 pts
Especially after Larmer has the 3rd longest games played streak in history at 884. NOT saying Dino should not be in but IF he's in.....how the hell do you keep Larmer out? - ILGolfer
Love Larmer but those numbers are not hall worthy. Not even close. |

I am hearing all the Ladd talk may be a smokescreen and to watch Carolina and either Skinner or Rask.
My own hunch is, watch Montreal for something. Not necessarily Pacioretty. I have heard no names. But I know the Hawks liked De La Rose in the past. I would also watch Calgary, Edmonton, NJ.

THAT is offensive.
Cicarelli conducted himself like an asshat his entire career as well. Larmer was a professional. Who does this league want representing it? - tredbrta
Some "politics" involved in Larmer not in yet...

If he's not moved this month, why would they move him because of a cap crunch over the summer - with a $900,000 cap hit? - StLBravesFan
Precisely and if he doesn't break out next season he will most likely be signed to a very cap friendly bridge deal. I can see him being traded in a hockey deal but definitely not a cap dump |

Refresh my memory please AL .
In 1992 I was 11 . Was Larmer a Labor and Union guy ? Is that why the lack of respect for him ? HOF and jersey retirement ? |

So glad I got to see about 10 games there before it closed in 1994.
Also saw a Team USA v. Russia Canada Cup game there .
Even though the UC holds 7k more people the Anthem at the Chicago Stadium was much louder. Feel sorry for everyone who never saw a game at the Chicago Stadium - mrpaulish
Game 6 SCF last year might have been as loud as the old building. Never thought it would get there. It was definitely close. |

The new building was designed to be loud with a big crowd. The old one just was. |

One peculiar thing about the old barn was that the lights would take about 5 minutes to heat back up after the anthem... and when the periods started the crowd lights would go off and the ice was where all the light was directed... you couldn't take your eyes off of it.
also, from the first balcony, up a few rows you could not even see the scoreboard... we thought $10 was a lot of money for those in 1982!! |

Like Pat Foley said during the 1991 ASG ceremony, "welcome.....including the Armed Forces Network, to most exciting hockey arena in the world, Chicago Stadium".
STH for a coupele decades plus. From Tony O's record setting shut out season to JR's goal which was the last ever Hawks goal there, it was the most amazing place I had been to, and that includes all the other original six teams famous places as well. Great joints. But the Stadium rocked. Saw three cups won there, none the Hawks....pisser. Which is why the only way this past June 15th could only be better is it were at 1800 W. Madison St.
And a little trivia here, the largest attendance ever was the 20,960 at game 3 of '82 first round. Leading 2-0 in the series, the Hawks came out flat, and got blown out by a sissy-relli hat-trick and 7-1 loss. People were SRO everywhere, considering seating capacity was only 17,317. Feb 3, 1995 the wrecking ball started on the West wall, that hurt bigtime. Gotta chance to visit with the now late-great Maggie. What a guy he was, perhaps the nicest athlete I think I have ever met. |

Yeah, and attendance never went above the old "limit" of 16,666. |

Thanks JJ for the update. I hope we do something this Team as is would have a hard time getting by the likes of Kings, Ducks, and Stars. |

Guys used to climb up onto the roof trusses from the sides of the 2nd balcony and crawl out a bit. It was a hoot to watch the cops try to talk the guys down.
Sorry Al, meant to respond to Blackhawk 24 |

They also had announced attendance of 16,666 every game, a fire department imposed limit.
And they certainly would never try to fit any more than that in the old barn. |

The iron man record was most impressive. Like I said loved the guy and think for sure his # should have been retired. Perhaps saying not even close to hall worthy is a bit unfair but I can certainly see why he's not. 500 goals and it's a different story. |

My comment was directed more at the fact that Dino is in and Larmer is not. PPG a little higher for Larmer but Dino hung on longer in his career. I still think Larmer should qualify but I see your point. Mine simply is if Larmer's is not HOF material......Dino shouldn't be either.
I'll leave you with this....Marion Hossa is regarded these days as a lock for the HOF, maybe not the first year of eligibility but he will get in. His stats (not including this season):
1172 games....486/570=1056
And Larmer was almost as good if not equal to Hossa in his 200' foot game. Larmer's issue is only ONE cup and the union thing which kept him out for a long time while Dollar Bill was helping run the league. |

Bravo. This type of positive talk seems to be only about a third of the chatter. I can get all the negative "it will never work" talk from my a-hole boss. Thanks for the grin, Jack. |

Even if you could, you couldn't tell how much time was left on penalties on those old scoreboard clocks.
You also couldn't hear/understand the public address system from the balconies, especially the first balcony. |

All those Teams are looking to add for a Playoff Run. Especially the Kings since Gaborik is out. I'm just as confident in our team as you are but by no reason should this front office stand pat. What type of message are you sending to the players. Make a trade to address your important need(s) damn the cap win NOW and send that message to players in the dressing room. |

Then he realized that hitting .240 at Birmingham was a lot harder than putting up 30 at the UC.
I like basketball - even tho they didn't win anything, I really liked the old Motta-led Bulls: Sloan, Van Lier, Walker, Boerwinkle - fun teams, fun times at the Stadium. |
