And to bring up an old argument - the National Anthem comes into the feed about 5 minutes in. The fans were yelling throughout it.

So Hawk fans were doing it prior to the 1991 All Star Game.

And always nice to hear the great Wayne Messmer again!!!!

Chicago goal scored by #9 Bobby Hull, assisted by #10 Dennis Hull and #7 Pit Martin @ 16:45.

1 minute to go in the period.

Loved when Harvey would announce the last minute of the period. Memories of my childhood

Great memories of listening to Foley and Tallon, while unscrambling the game on channel 44. The old barn was so loud, and it carried over easily onto the radio. There is no time now that I even remotely hate, as much as I disliked the North Stars back in the day, and yet there was no game I was more excited for than those damn Stars. Fun games.

I'm not one for retiring numbers, except in the most rare of circumstances. I have no issue with ceremonies honoring great players, including banners in the rafters...but taking numbers out of circulation always seemed silly to me.

Agree. I always thought they should have retired jerseys, but not numbers. Maybe take their last jersey, and throw it up there.

I was at that game too seated not far from the fight. It was a classic fan fight. What started it?

The one I am talking about started after a young usher, who had warned two guys about smoking, came up the ramp and then the steps in the club circle. Guys were sitting at the top of the box seats and when the usher tried to drag one of the guys out that guy picked the kid up and threw him over the railing to the ramp about 15 feet below. The ensuing fight consumed the club circle and the mezz over to the organ. Might have been a hundred people fighting. Donneybrook, pier sixer, you name it, that's what it was. Looked like a movie fight. Unreal.

(frank)ing right.

With Baseball America , .... plus you think this blog is bad , MiLB the Minor Leagues and Draft coverage for Baseball.is insane. There are very few secrets. When the Cubs grabbed Schwarber at 4 the losers on MLB Network were saying Schwarber should be slotted 20-30 in the draft..... ooops . He will be an average LF that hits 35 HRs

He agreed to sign for less then the #4 slot which gave them more money to sign high school pitchers in the 2nd 3rd 4th rounds. He was picked to be about 10-15 was what I thought I saw. both he and the cubs agreed he was not the #4 best prospect at the time. He also is not Avg LF he is below avg def.
