PK, Max, Gally are all window dressing. MTL is a one man team and that guy's done for the year. Why not tear it down and start next year with cheap players? With a healthy Price, this team can hide a lot of mediocre play. Maybe with a real coach who's aware of 21century coaching methods and strategies they could go deep next year- on a healthy Price. |

Ladd plugged in at 1L/3L, then Kris Russel at 4D. Finally a healthy return of Kruger & Hossa and we have the first salary cap era repeat, 4 titles in 7 seasons with the first dynasty since the Edmonton Gretzkys. |

Remember when the Habs stole Rick Dudley from the Leafs? That still hurts. You just learn to live with it somehow. |

Still think Dudley is a good management guy. It just doesn't make a difference when he's an assistant to a plug. |

Patch is a very good goal scorer at a extremely cheap price. You would never be able to replace him for that value. I have said this before, the player I would move is PK. I would seriously entertain discussions with Edmonton/Colorado. There are no UFAs on the market that will make a big impact on this team in the near future. Moving PK would liberate the cash, and bring you the forwards/ center that we need to have a decent team moving forward. BTW, Stamkos is not in the equation! Not worth the money he is going to get.

You cannot trade PK without opening a glaring hole in the D lineup. There is no one that can replace him right now in the Habs system, prospects included. Do you really think a D corps with old man Markov, Beaulieu, Gilbert, Gilbert/Pateryn, Petry and Emelin can make a serious contender?
Just need to look at the Oilers to see what does a team stacked at forwards but with a poor D corps.
And if you need to include a 1st pair D as a replacement for PK in a trade, then you wont receive enough good forwards in return to compensate. |

I get where you are coming from but it's the only move that would make an immediate payback. I would package PK with other players to at least bring back 2 forwards and hopefully Nurse. |

Patch is a very good goal scorer for about 1/4 of the season, he's invisible the other 3/4. I understand ~30 goals is hard to replace, but if he's not scoring he brings absolutely nothing to the table, and he's soft as baby poop. Yes PK would probably net you the biggest return, but he also drives the team every night.
Frankly anyone can go as far as I'm concerned. This is the same team that Bergevin inherited, he's done nothing. |

Who gets to play Subban's 30 mins a night? - dt99999
I don't care about his 30 minutes or how much he drives this team. Have MB shop for a second pairing D but focus on the front end now. Properly coached, Petry, Beaulieu, can give you the offensive push and get a solid stay home D. But I'm sick of what I see up front! Patch would be much more consistent if he ever played with a true #1 center. Dollar for value I would keep Patch, Chucky, Gally, Eller, Mitchell, everyone one else can go.

pretty sure you'd get sick real quick of what you see back there when you have Beaulieu as your top D |
