Come on stash, 2 free agents I called. I was under a different name 2 years ago, I have every trade, possible trade and all the scoop. I had the kane trade a day before and had all the players. I told all of you 2 months ago what is wrong with tyler Pennis. No one had a clue. Do you guys no why karlos williams missed the end of training camp? What else do you want to know - Buffalo39

carter is a great 2 way player, now that he is with the kings
hossa, IMO was always a top 5 player in the league until a few years ago - homiedclown
Hossa is still great player but it's pretty remarkable at his age he's still a solid player and very clutch.. if I could pick between the two players to have on my team I would pick Hossa every single time

I like Jeff Carter but let's not compare him in the likes of hossa that's a Hall of Fame player.. - gerbe75pts
Hossa has obviously had a better career, but they are comparable to what they have brought to their current teams
Both Carter and Hossa would be the best forward on a lot of teams (3 years ago more so than now) but are the perfect compliment to the teams they play for.
Let's just put it this way, I'd take a 24-25 year old Carter over Ryan O'Reilly

I think that's a tough one the Ryan o Reilly thing .. do I think Jeff Carter would play how he's playing in LA with us no.. that's the difference between the two one would play for the worst team in the league and play it's heart out the other one will just count the days till summer I believe

Thanks
The Ennis stuff is interesting mostly because his value is probably at an all time low, figured him more as a draft day move.
Best goalie ever drafted?! That's some really high praise, hope he's right. - Sabresfan-365
I truly believe that Ennis is going to be moved and I'm going to take a guess I believe the team hes going to go to was the team that was going to draft him for Vlasic

hossa has taken 3 steps back this year, love the player but I stated many times once he hits the wall its a bad contract
just turned 37
.5 ppg this year
5 more years at 5.75 per

On a good team, or the current Sabres team?
Edit: ROR genuinely wants to make this team better. I'm not sure Carter in the same position in the same point in his career would.
I would trade the molasses for him in a second would you - gerbe75pts
The Hawks are going to get hammered on Hossa's recapture penalties when he retires after this year or next. I'd say after this year. He makes $7.9M this year which drops to $4M next year and then $1M for the remainder. No way he plays after next year.

I'm sorry I just can't take the guy who said the Sabres have never developed a great player seriously. At all. It's also pretty convenient to say you had a different handle. I bet you were the kid in school who said you had a super hot girlfriend, but she lived in Canada so that's why no one had ever seen her.

You can't say he has not called anything he pretty much got every single trade right.. That hank trade was pretty funny and legendary at the same time

Like I said in a later post, you have my respect for what you've called - just stating that the particular names you've mentioned now aren't really reaches, that's all.
Keep posting what you hear, I know I appreciate it and I wasn't saying it to imply you being a fraud or anything of the sort.

Sounds like buffalo39 believes it may be a fairly eventful trade deadline day.
I saw he said that we want Stamkos, but I hope it's only if he becomes a free agent. Buffalo39, you don't think they'd trade for him do you? - Cup Crazy '07
If i'm Murrey, I gamble on trying to sign him in free agency...
IF Tampa and Stamkos agreed to listen to trade offers you have two options:
1) Send a huge package to Tampa (1st, ennis, etc.) in order to get Stamkos here and hope to sign him after the year is over
2) Wait til free agency
if you go with option 1 you still run the massive risk of Stamkos deciding to Bolt to Toronto after the season is over, no guerentees you can resign him
