Teams I think Hartsy should/could go to before Pitt:
Anaheim
Arizona
Dallas
Florida
Minnesota
Nashville
St. Louis
I'm not all that positive some these teams could pull it off with cap reasons, but I know some could and that he'd be a good fit / help for any of these teams listed for playoffs, or to make a playoff run, and most likely the following years. Also, I don't see Hartsy being moved to a Metro team. |

Any team heading into the playoffs should be interested in Hartnell. Sure he takes the odd bad penalty but when the war begins you really want this guy. I truly miss him on my Flyers and that was the most ridiculous trade. Flyers lost that deal big time. Hartnell is all heart with decent skills most of the time. |

That was the only poor deal Hextall has made. But it was a bad one. |

Only way it happens is if the Jackets took Cole the other way. Pens can't afford to move forwards with the depth they have right now. Kunitz would be the only option, buy he's been great the last 15 games or so. |

In fairness, the trade was in no way intended to be a win for Philly right now. It was a means to an end to get out of the bad contracts and start over.
Philly lost initially in the trade, but they win come next year or so. It was part of the plan. |

While I highly doubt there is any substance to this rumor a deal like Cole, Bonino & 2nd for Hartnell & Prout would be great.
A lot of people calling him out for being old & slow but he is putting up better numbers than Kessel on a terrible team and he brings another level in the playoffs. I don't care that there are 3 years left on his contract. |

I want to know what your "source" is on, Ek. The Pens can't afford to make any more big moves and can't afford Hartnell's salary. He is also too much past his prime and takes too many penalties. |

debatable, but i will remember that for the rest of my life.
cancer sucks though...was definitely sad to see that happen and hartnell acknowledged it as well - YuenglingJagr
Coming from someone who actually knew him outside of what you saw at Pens games, he was a great guy. |

Wouldn't that be Bernie Sanders trying to remove the cap with all his "free everything" programs? Free tickets to all hockey games, because some people can't afford them... meanwhile your pretzel and soda will be 33.50

I'd love to hear where we're going to magically find the $4.75 million in cap space to fit Hartnell in for the next 3 years. - hitman19
Here' how...we put everyone that we no longer want (Cole+Plotnikov etc) in a big stinky package for players that we DO want, and the other team in the deal accepts them without reservation. Isn't that the way this works? |

But seriously, if the BJ's retained some salary in the deal, I would be all for it, but I can't see what we would have to trade that would make it happen. |

It would actually be quite hilarious to see Hartnell in a Pens uniform but unless GMJR can pull a rabbit out of his hat it will never happen what's he have 3yrs left on his term around 4M or higher? What's the point of adding an older guy with term...Pens need some youth until they can get out of this salary cap mess Shero and Ruth have created. |

Hartnell to Anaheim or Nashville would be smart short term moves. - jfkst1
I know the contract isn't great, but would love it. He is exactly what we need. |

Yeah, I don't see this. There are a few teams looking for a physical scoring winger and I don't see Columbus trading him in the division unless the return is really good. Anaheim, Detroit, Chicago are all teams that won't surprise me Columbus making a deal with. |

He really is one of the "good guys"...even started a charity poking fun at himself for how many times he falls during games. Calls it "Hartnell Down"! - aantny88
Is he still doing that? Or was it a Flyers-related thing only? I hope he is, was a good cause and fine idea. |
