I predict we keep McGinn. He fits the "hard to play against mold" that TM is trying to build, he probably won't cost 4+ per year to keep him like a lot of folks keep saying, and do we really want more draft picks right now? I'll take a young, tough 20 goal scorer at 4 mil any day if I am building a team. Folks saying we have to trade him point to "we can always get a rugged 20-goal winger via trade or FA", but are they really out there at less than what McGinn is set to earn?....why not just keep the one we have?
Oh, and Lehner is a beast. |

I figured more assists than goals.... |

We're currently picking sixth even though we have three more games played than Toronto and Calgary and two more games played than Winnipeg I don't see up ending up in the bottom three before the lottery. Depending on if Murray blows up the team or we suffer (knock on wood) a few injuries, our schedule is a lot easier at the end of the year and we have too much talent. To be frank as long as we're drafting one of Matthews, Laine, Puljujärvi, Tkachuk, Chychrun or Nylander I'll be okay. I've heard good things about Olli Juolevi too and some people have him above Chychrun. So really we need to pick in top 6 and we're all right. |

same here. But we have no finishers like other teams. Don't mind it one bit him scoring. Hate we have no finishers. |

Juolevi has jumped chychrun on quite a few mock drafts but truth is they are both wild cards and perhaps at least 1 year away.
For me it's Matthews, 2 Finns, Tkachuk or trade the pick. They have to come out of this draft with a core/elite player. Nylanders of the world won't cut it. |

Provorov and Werenski were jumping ahead of Hanifin at times last year too, yet Hanifin went 1st as expected. If Chychrun is there I'd rather take him than end up with a Vatanen or Shattenkirk (who I really like) |

I think what I, or really anyone, and I dare you to prove it, really didn't see coming was the net-front presence he's turned into. Especially after the first 10ish games when people were saying he wasn't strong enough, and indeed he seemed to get knocked off the puck a little too easily, but I just don't think he was really ready for how strong guys are at this level. And once he did he realized he had to be a little stronger on his skates. Have a solid base, Like an offensive tackle in football. They shuffle backwards on the pass rush, because if they lift their feet and step backwards they'll be off balance and get blowup by the rusher. That sort of thing. |
