How does this trade have any correlation towards the draft?
In the sense of unloading McCann or someone of value in an attempt to move up, what, 3-4 spots?

Christ i hope not

Can we draft that high when we make the playoffs??

Well, we asked for trades.

We got one.

Careful what you wish for

Hopefully this isi not an indication of whats to come.

While this trade looks weird at first maybe everyone should let this play out a bit before losing their minds.

This might be setting the table for something else in the next week. While Shinkaruk is ding very well in the AHL, he still has not done anything in the NHL. Lets see what Granlund does in Vancouver before freaking out.

Exactly. He didn't like Shink from the start and we won't know the winner of this trade for a few years. Benning has shown he can evaluate talent so again I can't figure out why everyone is ready to join Phucker in Philly or Ballstein in TO

Granlund is finnish, so Benning knows that he will pick top 3 and get a chance to draft one of the 2 finns, acquiring Granlund will help them ?

I'm really glad to see all the people who have never managed a professional hockey team are speaking up, I was really worried what these grocery clerks thought.

Trade up with Granlund?
- walshyleafsfan

I was thinking more along the lines of bringing in a young Finnish center to help out the draft pick adjust, etc.

Shink was not a JB type player from the get go. Rumors of him trying to trade him first draft , to tepid reviews when asked about him, and now traded.
- VANTEL

It's a bit of a head scratcher considering Shink hasn't played a full NHL season and we knew Benning wasn't too high on Shink. I'm starting to think Benning may have something else at play here...

Well at least we got a visit from PHucker...so nice to hear that two cents...

This should be a fireable offence. You can find scrap heap players like Granlund all over free agency after week three.

Imagine if Gillis had traded a top prospect to get a player not worthy of a QO

He was cut with a skate in practice, don't get me wrong, insinuating that Rodin somehow affects Shink is dumb but Rodin's injury was just luck and has nothing to do with being soft.
- belcherbd

How are there honestly people that think this is okay?

Maybe a good comparison is Grabner. But at least Ballard was an NHL player at the time and not a 10 minute a game player on a terrible team.

I'm speechless... I'll admit, I don't know what the farfegnugen is going on with this trade.... there has to be some inside information that we are unaware of or some advanced stats BS that indicates this Granlund character is the guy...

i thought it was Mikael Granlund too at first, but then i was thinking that guy plays for Minnie so how did that happen..>>

the question I have is how we trade a 1st rounder taken #24 for a guy taken in the 2nd round at #45???
