Granlund can play center or wing. Laine, Tkachuck and W. Nylander are also LWers

I think it has more to do with Benning cleaning out Gillis's closet and trying to bring in players he wants.

I am not freaked by it but I don't like it. I have said all year Where does Shink fit in on the Canucks. I never seen him as a fit and never seen JB giving high praises to Shink.

I need to see how it plays out. It could mean a second trade . I need to see how this team looks after next week before saying it is dumb.

This is the big augment I have had with leaf fans and their prospects like Nylander and Marner. Undersized and one dimensional. What if Shinkaruk doesn't have what it takes to play in the top 6. He is going to be pretty useless in the bottom 6. That is why I have always defended the Virtanen pick. If he reaches his potential then we have a top 6 power forward that can score. If he doesn't reach that ceiling he cans still be a contributing bottom 6 player.

Q is was Shink ever projected as a top 6 winger?
I'd say no n his 2-way game wasn't getting him in the NHL.
Like it or not Shink was enticing but only on the AHL level.
Let this deal simmer n see where it goes i suggest n ignore stats as they rarely matter.
