Veys days r numbered. He's too slow n doesn't win many puck battles although he has shown more effort. Granlund is his replacement.
- Nighthawk

You may be right about being veys replacement. Dont think his FO% is that great.

I'm calm.
No freaking out here.
Just a lot of laughing at the emos, drama queens & bridge jumpers.
What a display, yesterday!!

It just seems like an odd time of year to make this kind of a trade. Does JB expect this to help the team right now, to make a push for the playoffs? If this was done in the summer it would have been minor hysteria instead of mass hysteria.

Somehow I doubt that.
I suspect the timing was done before they were forced to call him up and all of his deficiencies were on display for all to see.

Could have brought Gaunce up as he has been playing lights out the last week or so plus plays multiple positions and you can put him on any line or situation.

I think its a combination of injuries to a few C's, opportunity to try-out Granlund in a few roles and also applies a little pressure to McCann and Vey to say work hard this summer, youve got competition for icetime

Boeser should be here for the 2017-2018 season. Real deal. Pure goal scorer. Shinkaruk was never going to see top 6. As much as it pains me.

I'd rather have had him come up and play the last 7 games or so. Then move him at draft. Something else must be up. Trader Jim has other plans.

I've never seen a GM create so much angst and so on, from Van fans (including myself). Every trade he makes, people lose their mind. Now, lets be honest. Alot of those trades have worked out. Not every trade, but alot. Kesler is a good player but nearing the end. Would you wanna pay him what he is due to make, starting next year and beyond? Where is Bonino? How many goals does Garrison get? Bieksa, sadly it was time. Lack, we all wanted more of a return, but lets be honest we kept the better in Markstrom. Kassian had to go. MTL dumped him for Scrivens.

Lets give JB time on this one. Let's see what happens come Monday. If Hamhuis doesn't fetch a propsect/player he better get a 1st.

For TML to get 2 2nds for a bottom pair dman (serviceable) and a fringe 4th liner, is beyond me! I love to hate the Leafs. But you can't argue how well they have managed this rebuild thus far. props.

- storm88

yes, yes you can argue that point.
it remains to be seen what they do with the picks they have and if they aren't still rebuilding another 3-5 years from now, then you can give them props.

NO PROPS until they can actually point to any tangible results. being last place in the league isn't a tangible result of rebuilding, otherwise the oilers would be champion rebuilders...

The thing is we have guys in the minors and we arent making the playoffs. Our guys in Utica have been playing well its kinda a slap in the face to them.

Hes exaggerating Dan and Moj. OR, I pasted the wrong link. I am not sure as it is not working any longer. Either way, the original link was supposed to be Bob McKenzie's take on the Shink and Granlund trade.

You can give them props for the fact they have publicly stated a plan. They continue to work towards it. They are doing all the right things by trading expiring contracts for picks so even if they turn to nothing they are still trying, fans can get behind that.

They are also using their cap space to bring on toxic contracts and move some long term ones out so that they have flexibility.

They are 100% moving in the right direction. Where as the Canucks dont appear to have a direction. To me they are trying to speed things up by making questionable deals instead of following the leafs direction. This is a critical year, if we make the right moves we can speed things up by a year. Or we can keep making moves like this that we only delay the day at which we are competitive again.

Maybe he's not quite NHL ready.
I'm not getting drawn into your vortex of drama, read enough of your teeth gnashing yesterday. I thought you were cheering for the Leafs, now?

For sure, but I would rather Gaunce be the go-to guy on the playoff push for Utica than getting in the lineup for 10 minutes of icetime with Cracknel and Doresett. He's been making the most of his icetime

I think you have mistaken me for someone else.

I, personally, can't give them props, not now, not ever. not their fans, their organization, their media biatches, not anyone associated with the team (except Harold Ballard, now he ran a tight ship). Not in the least. someone else maybe, they can, but not me.

It's the live show, instead of the recorded bit. Bro J is going golfing and talking about a D. Sedin game worn jersey that's being auctioned off at the Dice n Ice event tonight, with authentic hockey smell.
