I think Reinhart on the wing is where he'll end up being in the NHL. Especially if he keeps up the net front presence aspect of his game.
I still say Eichel would be wasted on the wing. A guy who can skate and pass like he can needs the whole ice, not just ⅓ of it. And in Disco Dan's rigid system he can't float around on the wing. - Wetbandit1
That's a good point about Eichel
Obviously they'd have to play around with the lines a bit...
But if we did get Stamkos, and then picked one of the top forwards this draft, our top9 will be stacked
That would potentially allow us to use ROR, Jack & Stamkos all at center
We found a way to get all our forwards ice time in 05-06 & 06-07
Then late in games we'd combine those lines a little bit if need be
Too many centers is an ok problem to have IMO
And it's a commonly held idea that Stamkos doesn't want to play on the wing...
Maybe he'd be a bit more comfortable with that idea if his center is Eichel instead of Filppula or Namestnakov (sp.) |

How many people have a blind hatred for Bogo? - sbroads24
Just you . I can take him or leave him . You would probably feel the same way if he was not part of the Myers trade. If Stamkos wants to come here so bad . Does he give us a discount? You sign him to what he is looking for and it ties your hands in a couple of years. Cause I got news for you . The Canadian dollar is going down farther.

No help from the teams below us tonight. Toronto lost, Peg lost, Oilers losing Columbus got a point is the only silver lining. I want to ideally be 2nd or 3rd last to get a top 3 pick in the draft. Not looking good. |

Agree
If Lehner plays like this I think we're borderline playoffs next year without Stamkos
That's assuming a bounce back year from Ennis & Girgensons, and continued progression of our other youngsters |

Too bad you've got two teams 5 points or 3 games behind you... If we can catch the Jets for 3rd last I'll feel okay about it. Allthough I can see us going 3rd to 6th. |

I'd be surprised to see Toronto win four more games in this dignity filled season. Edmonton maybe six. If we were to catch them at the bottom, I think it would be the injury bug's doing.

We'll see what happens
Not that I expect them to win a lot,
But I think the Leafs have 3 games in hand on us
I think us & Toronto will have the worst records from here out
Cbus is playing better (not great obv), and Edmonton isn't gonna trade anyone major so they'll win some games. I could see us finish anywhere between 2nd - 5th
But prob closer to 2nd
Especially if Georges gets traded...
And it might be hard not to trade him with how much is being paid for defensemen right now |

That's the part I'm most nervous about
Love the way our forwards are shaping up
Defense might be a work in progress for another couple years though |

I have a feeling Pegula wants to win as soon as possible and doesn't care about money. Which makes me think we take advantage of Jack and Samsons entry level contracts and Girgensons (most likely) upcoming bridge deal and worry about the repercussions later. I definitely don't want to be a fan of a team stuck in cap hell, but I also want to see my team win a stanley cup. Could you imagine Girgensons/Eichel/X as our THIRD line?!?!?!?!?! |

Yeah...
If we signed Stamkos, I'd be comfortable saying we'd have the best top9 in the NHL within another season or 2
Kane-O'Reilly-Reinhart
(Draft pick)-Stamkos-Ennis/Bailey
Girgensons-Eichel-Bailey/Ennis
Foligno-Larsson-Deslauriers/Schaller
Whoa!
(Keanu Reeves voice)
Hahaha
And then we have the freedom to trade Fasching & picks for that good young defenseman we still need to add |

Apparently he's worth something to a team who might set a record for most wins in the first 58 games of the season. |
