Trade everyone not named price, subban, pacioretty, gallagher, and galchenyuk. We need a retooling for sure...not a scorched earth rebuild but moves need to be made.

Buffalo traded away 1 player that was under contract beyond last year, and it was Myers. They took back 2 players that were under contract beyond last year (Kane & Bogosian). Get your facts straight before you come in here pointing fingers.

You hit it on the head. It's not us (Sabres fans) faulting Toronto for tanking, it's the ridiculousness in the denials of it.

I can "defend" the moves Buffalo made last year (dumping pending FAs, the final goalie after 2 were moved playing better than those that were traded away, etc), but the point isn't the teams tanking, it's the lack of ridicule for Toronto in the media.

That doesn't count the prospects (like Armia) that got moved, but that has nothing to do with the NHL roster and "tanking" anyway.

Difference is Leafs trading away pending UFA's and RFA's, Buff traded away good players under contract for injured players and then proceeded to trade away both Goalies, 1 of which was playing well.

You traded away a 30-goal scorer for prospects and pick; you dumped a veteran Dman (Phaneuf) for a prospect and a second round pick. Don't think you are just giving up pending RFAs and UFAs. You guys decided to tank prior to this year's start.

The only thing i guess i am jealous of is Toronto next year will have.

Yep.

If the team that a new president/GM takes over has no chance of being a contender with the pieces in place and doesn't align with how you think a contender needs to be built, tear the thing down to the foundation and rebuild. Why toil in suckage indefinitely? The Leafs did that since the early 90s.
