If Mason had that kind of game in goal last night this thread would be 200 posts long already.

How good is he at jumping through hoops?

I mean, I know he's good at jumping ship and leaving his team in a bind and all, but not sure about how he handles hoops.

He's in a bind with his current team so he should just do what he does best.

Any good college FA that will be available? I know Veasley but I wonder if the Flyers could be attractive as they could give probably some time this year. Normally they don't have that option because of the roster.

Hell I would even talk to Veasley and promise him second line roll with Couturier the remainder of this year just to get him signed. Probably what Toronto will do.

I don't think Neuvirth played bad. The first goal was bad but the second hit the ref and went right to Stall and the 3rd was flukey.

If anything I would say it was Neuvirth's first bad game.

The Flyers played probably one of their best games last night other then scoring. They were moving their feet. Backchecking hard. All lines were rolling. It's a game you rarely lose.

the real question we should be asking is how does his CORSI look

Is Austen Matthews eligible for the Calder next year? The rules are:

"a player cannot have played any more than 25 games previously in any single season, nor have played in more than six games in each of two separate preceding seasons in any major professional league."

However, Gretzky wasn't able to win it despite having only played one professional year before he came to the NHL. In NHL16, he's not eligible for it. Anyone who can shed some light on this would be great.

Well, he definitely cost them the first goal. But I think it was more that this board has a love-hate relationship with Mason and more of a love-like one with Neuvirth.

Hopefully it's good, we need to have more games where we generate more shots attempts than the other team, because that ensures we will win.

Doesn't matter. They'll find a way to screw him out of it because he's 'Merican.

We're 24th in the league in SF% over the past four years.

The Flyers haven't been a team that outshoots their opponents at 5 on 5 since 11-12.

So you feel Nuevy cost them the game?

It is an interesting question are they in a long-term rebuilding process? I would have to say "yes". This organization since the 70's has not consistently been able to draft and develop its own dmen.

With the implementation of the salary cap and the clutch and grab era greatly diminished, the value of dmen has sky rocketed. Trades of any really good young dmen below the age of 30 is usually not happening, unless there is a unique circumstance (UFA not wanting to sign with current team, disgruntled player).

Give Hexy credit he is at least trying to rectify this problem. So far, so good with Ghost. We'll see what happens with the rest of the d prospects in the pipeline. If even half of these guys can succeed, then the rebuild is over.

Sell
- mydoglicks

Yeah..I've always advocated to sell even if we were going to make the dance. It was a super long shot that we'd make it, but I think that last night's game really broke our backs. I can't fault the team for its effort, but like I have said several times, you basically have maybe 3 legit scoring threats on the team and the rest are 3rd or 4th line grinders. When you have that, even if a solid effort is put forth like last night, you are going to lose because those players just won't consistently score at the NHL level. Even Laughton's goal should never have gone in really...It is what it is, but we'll have inject some talent into the forward corp before we can seriously compete.

Seems like every time they get with 3-5 points of the wild card they find a way to lose the next game. Or find a way to NOT win as in last night's case.

Monday going to be interesting.
