Flyers going to be shutout of the Hart/Calder/Vezina/Norris mix again?

The last time a Flyers captured one of these awards can't be Lindros 20 year ago can it?

It's a joke that he's considered a rookie.
- Scoob

Totally agree. On the flipside, say a player like Lindblom comes over and really lights it up and is in the Calder conversation (a stretch, I know).... How up in arms would Flyers fans be if he was ruled out of consideration for having played more than 25 games in each of the past 2 years in the Swedish pro league?

I want us to trade away E.Staal and the other UFA's but i'm afraid we might actually get better right away if we do...

Any good college FA that will be available? I know Veasley but I wonder if the Flyers could be attractive as they could give probably some time this year. Normally they don't have that option because of the roster.

Hell I would even talk to Veasley and promise him second line roll with Couturier the remainder of this year just to get him signed. Probably what Toronto will do.

I think they should lower the Calder age limit from 25 to maybe 22.

I don't get this. He just turned 24 in Oct. I get the KHL is a pro league but so is the AHL, and it's not much better. I consider it his time spent in the minors.

What do you think about your other Staal bro? I think he's got a lot of undeserved poop over the years because of his contract and the fact he's never been a 60 point guy. But he's the kind of strong 2-way center every contender needs, and I don't think the Pens have been a threat to do anything in the playoffs since they traded him.

People keep saying Ghost, Larkin, or Panarin are deserving of the Calder, but the real dark horse in this trophy race is Medvedev

I'd be interested in finding out what the rule is there (if there is one). Does a player need to be on an entry level contract to win the Calder? Could a journeyman AHL player come in and have a hot year and win it at, say, 32? Either way, Panarin is still on an ELC.

"...Players younger than 25 as of Sept. 15 in the calendar year their first NHL contract is signed are subject to the terms of Article 9 of the CBA and must sign an entry-level contract (ELC). This means the amount of salary and team-paid performance bonuses is capped, depending on his draft year or the year he signs."

Seriously man..why do you follow the Flyers?

Ghost has a legit chance at Calder if he keeps it up.

I honestly don't get certain people here. Complain about everything, Hextall is in the middle of fixing it, that isn't happening fast enoguh so complain more..

They aren't winning the cup this season , I don't think anyone thought they were but I'm a lot more positive about their chances to do that based on all the prospects incoming and what should be a high pick this year.

He's a beast. The offensive numbers are coming this year more than they have in the past, but even when he's not putting up the point totals the guy is a possession monster.

Isn't a player in the league I'd rather have on the ice trying to hold a lead with 5 minutes to go in the game. Working with Rod Brind'amour daily has been huge for him this year.

It's amazing 76ers preach trust the process and are all on board but when it's comes to flyers fans are impatient and don't understand building success doesn't happen over night, or over one season should I say.

I feel like this is a greedy mindset. What can we get for who? Some players' value is best suited with this team. Brayden Schenn is young and the organization is preaching patience. In my opinion we should identify our core and build around it. Right now I feel like our core is Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier, Mason and Gostisbehere. Of course there are players on this current squad who will stay and some who will go but to me, these players I've named we should build around.
- SuperSchennBros

It might be. But as we all have seen Schenn can be very streaky sometimes. Also you have to weigh contracts. Can't give everyone long term deals. Also I know Schenn is RFA but what if his numbers don't match what hextall feels he is worth.

Also maybe Hextall finds a deal that fits the now and future. Schenn could be attractive compared to guys like Ladd and Boedker who are rentals.

A lot comes down to what Hextall and Hackstol think about Schenn and his future.

What about the President's trophy? Any interest in that? I can see not caring about individual awards.
