I think Toronto already hired his dad
- KINGKENZO

Yeah.

I think he is going to Toronto.

But I wonder if there were any other college Fa worth making that effort for.

He's a beast. The offensive numbers are coming this year more than they have in the past, but even when he's not putting up the point totals the guy is a possession monster.

Isn't a player in the league I'd rather have on the ice trying to hold a lead with 5 minutes to go in the game. Working with Rod Brind'amour daily has been huge for him this year.

Hexy needs to offer Brindy double whatever the Canes are paying him.

Flyers going to be shutout of the Hart/Calder/Vezina/Norris mix again?

The last time a Flyers captured one of these awards can't be Lindros 20 year ago can it?

- PLindbergh31

Yep.

And the last time a member of the LA Kings won one of them was 1997-1998. So what's the point you're getting at?

What about the President's trophy? Any interest in that? I can see not caring about individual awards.
- PLindbergh31

Nope, the President's trophy is meaningless.

I would disagree having the most points in the NHL, along with home ice advantage throughout out the playoffs is meaningless.

Flyers won the Prince of Wales Trophy in 2009-2010. No one cares.

I think Rod is sticking with the organization for a long time until somebody offers him a Head Coach job.

Ron Francis ordered him to take a vacation. Brindy rented an RV and modified a bike rack for the back of it so he could take his stationary bike with him.

Since the 05/06 NHL lockout, exactly one team that won the President's Trophy has won the Cup. I'm not sure it's the measure of a champion.

Giroux was a finalist. Have a hard time believing Ghost won't be a finalist for Calder this year. He has a chance to win it too

Sure, the home ice part would be nice, but that alone isn't a ticket to the finals.

There is only one prize worth winning. The rest are merely "attaboys."

It's amazing 76ers preach trust the process and are all on board but when it's comes to flyers fans are impatient and don't understand building success doesn't happen over night, or over one season should I say.
- arichardson22

I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. Only like 3 people here trust the process. The large majority are in favor of Hextalls approach

Didnt Holmgren get some consideration for NHL GM of the year back in the day?

"Play this game 10 times, the Flyers win 9. Bad time to get the unlucky loss. Bad opponent for it to happen against. Double whammy. Oh well. "

triple whammy because every team ahead of the Flyers won (except NYR who played NJ)

I know I'm in favor of Hextall's approach. I hope Toronto throws gigantic wads of cash at Stamkos, and a huge term too.

In fact, for me that is going to be one of the interesting little dramas of the off-season. Does Stamkos go for the money? Does Toronto stick with the sensible rebuild or do they commit an exorbitant sum of money for the shiny new toy?

Also, if this year's NHL draft is as thin as some are saying (USA Today had a column the other day on the subject) I wouldnt mind Hextall adding picks from the subsequent draft.

You know what? I liked Bill Guerin. I didn't ever like Booby Holik.

That is all.

They've got 4. Not exactly a lot, but a fair amount.
