I honestly think more people would watch Jack vs Connor. Hockey fans have seen ovi and crosby every year multiple times. Newcomers to the sport are excited by the young talent. And the next Ovi/Crosby. NHL (frank)ed up. As usual. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
In a way they might be right. Jack and Connor are still raw even though gobs of talent. How many are really interested other than the fans that REALLY follow hockey. |

they would have to market the crap out of it. Not just on NHL .com.
Don't see them doing it. |

Reading this after reading the Sullivan article shows an interesting contrast between minor hockey in usa vs canada. |

And that is where they fail, any other major sport markets the hell out of there young talent. Especially when they have generational talent come in. The NHL does nothing. They really just need to dump their partnership with NBC all together. |

Are we that surprised/upset by it? 2 small market teams that are at the bottom of the league near the end of February that play in different conferences vs the top team in the league that is setting records with how well they're doing and the 2nd WC team in the east. Pens and Caps are in the same division, Crosby has been doing really well recently, I think OV has something like 39 goals at this point. It's the better game to have nationally.
We want McDavid and Eichel because we have something invested in them. The rest of the nation doesn't and, really, doesn't care as much as we do about it. When we're a good team or Edmonton is good then market the hell out of them. They don't put Marriota on MNF. |

NFL doesn't put top picks on MNF or SNF because they're bad teams. If anything they put them on Thursday which is even worse than Sunday afternoon. They're young talent, sure. But they're bad teams and small markets. |

Garth is trying to tell people that Fasching balked at TM wanting him to come to play in Rochester last year so he went back to Minny. Says that it created rift and that he is looking to trade him.
How does someone just make up such ABSOLUTE bullsh1t and spread it???
There is on way in blue monkey h3ll that Fasching would pass up his ELC with his family needs. |

Any one ever tell you your posts always seem to be loaded with swear words and too many explanation points? Every time I read one of your posts it feels like youre yelling. |

That's not the first time I've heard that, however. There was talk that he'd go back to college next year and then go the free agent route instead of signing next year so that he didn't have to play in Buffalo. For the life of me I can't remember where that was said, I don't think it was here but it might have been.
I'd expect to see him in ROC next year but I wouldn't be blown away surprised if we didn't. |

I mentioned at the beginning of the year that it would be a decent idea to go after Skinner. Plenty of pros, plenty of cons, but provides scoring and fits age of the team. I seemed to be in minority.
Anyone change their minds? With his speed and goal scoring sense, could be an excellent winger for Eichel. |

I'd agree with you if Edmonton had been on the National schedule more than once this season. But they weren't. This was the only game they had on the US National schedule all season. - HonkFortheGoose
nbc is a united states channel though, edmonton is a bottom feeder in canada

I said market them, not MNF or SNF games. I said the NHL does not market their young talented players like the other major leagues do. |
