thanks for reading us Larry:
The Rangers won’t be able to put Rick Nash on Long-Term Injured Reserve and simply stow him there to clear the additional $3.27 million of cap space such a maneuver would yield if the winger is going to be able to return with at least a couple of weeks to go in the season that ends six weeks from Saturday.
People will be watching. And the league loves to find reason to sanction the franchise. But if Nash — out since Jan. 22 with a bone bruise not nearly as benign as it originally sounded — is not projected to return before then, the Blueshirts would be foolish not to pursue the move leading up to the deadline. He would need a couple of weeks to get up to speed, anyway. - jimbro83
First paragraph and first sentence of second almost confirms the 'Screw the Rangers button' at NHL HQ and Toronto. But if HSS says Nash misses another 4-6 weeks, the NHL won't be able to say a damn thing. |

As Brooks said, once Nash is cleared it will take a few weeks to get back into game shape. I guess the issue is that it is a bone bruise rather than an out and out fracture, something that is not a concrete diagnosis. That's probably why Toronto thinks the Rangers are trying to pull one over on the NHL. |

I don't know how they could be pulling one over on the NHL when arguably their best forward hasn't played in 5 weeks. Yep Ranges are screwing the league by not playing him lol. Rangers want to lose as many games as possible |

Who cares about the Nash issue. I for one know I can sleep much better knowing that NY has tackled the evils of salt. |

there is really nothing the league can do about the Rangers making a big money acquisition before Monday and not playing Nash again until the playoffs. Skate the hell out of him in the two weeks of practice before the playoffs and have him ready for game 1. |

They've played quite well without him. Getting him AND another player right before the start of the playoffs would be huge (barring chemistry issues) depending on what they would have to give up. I'm totally against mortgaging the future or solid players under cap friendly deals. A cheap rental in terms of what we give up not in terms of money would be ideal. |

I have a feeling if they are going for a top 6 guy, one of the RFA's will not be with us much longer. |
