Of the Rangers upcoming 14 games in the next 30 days:
12/14 are currently in playoff position
9/14 are road games
6/14 are back-to-back
Got their work cut out for them - mrn22
We're going to find out just how competitive this team truly is, I suppose.
True but three goals in four contests, two game winners.
How is that Devil lineup, as currently constructed, in the thick of the playoff race?
Band of misfits, with a few good young players thrown in and a world class goalie? Being competitive is one thing but they have a legitimate shot at the postseason; that is flat out miraculous. - MidnightMarauder
They play good team hockey. They have a system which they apply, they work their ass off, and they don't give the opposition much space. And, they do that in front of one of the best goaltenders in hockey.
I agree with you that on paper, it's hard to believe that they are competitive, but they kind of remind me of the early Torts' Rangers teams.

Schneider is clearly one of the three or four best goalies in the league right now.
The early Tortorella Rangers had a little bit of talent on the team; a touch more than this misfit Devils group.
Devils have a pop gun offense but for some reason an absolutely lethal powerplay.
All the teams that have beaten the Rangers good this season, Washington, Chicago, Kings, Devils all have great powerplays
and guess what, the Blues and Stars have great powerplays too - jimbro83
Those two games are going to be very difficult games -- road games against two of the top 5 teams in the league. It would be nice to get McDonagh and Staal back, because it's hard to see the Rangers winning those games with those guys, in addition to Nash, out of the lineup. I will take a split right now.
He needs to put that on Boyle and Kreider and tie the other end to the bench - MiloslavHorava
I don't think that Kreider is completely safe before this trade deadline if the Rangers get offered the right deal. I don't think it will happen, but also wouldn't be completely surprised if it does.

Bring back the Yak for Kreider. That will get TPC going

I was just going to say the same thing.
do you remember there was a sequence early on in the game where he personally screwed up the Rangers getting it out of their own zone around 3 or 4 times?
the only time I am going to complain about Boyle in the lineup is if everyone is healthy and he is still in there
Boyle was awful last night but I can't fault AV or Ulfie for using him - jimbro83
There was a point in the game where the puck came out to the point and... TANNER GLASS was on the point covering for Boyle TWICE!! Boyle was aimlessly skating around in the slot nowhere near the play. I just shook my head because yelling at my TV doesn't seem to work... anymore

I yelled at my plasma TV so hard the other day now there is a big red line going down the middle.
