I used to read a ton of Koontz about years ago. Haven't read much since. I'll check it out. Need something to read.

the officiating was absolutely atrocious, compounding that with the guys out of the lineup, but the effort was poor
-jimbro83
No offense to you jimbro but I read Jan's blog pretty regularly (and have followed hockey since 1971) and I have never seen a fan base consistently feel they are shortchanged by the refs more than NYR fans. It's like it's built into the DNA of the fan base or something, I don't know.
Bottom line is sometimes the calls go your way and sometimes they don't. But over the course of 82 games it all evens out. |

They legitimately thought the NHL told refs not to give them power plays because 1) their PP was too lethal and 2) Crosby slammed his on the ice because he was upset with a call |

The last two novels I've read have been pretty heavy, so I could use something a little less so. Although I did read the new Girl with the Dragon Tattoo sequal that wasn't written by Larsson, so that covers my junk reading quota. |

Yeah wasn't bad, but you could tell Larsson didn't write it.
My next book will be Redbreast by Nesbo. If you haven't read him, he is another really good author. One of the other Pete's fellow citizens |

Devils have a pop gun offense but for some reason an absolutely lethal powerplay.
All the teams that have beaten the Rangers good this season, Washington, Chicago, Kings, Devils all have great powerplays
and guess what, the Blues and Stars have great powerplays too - jimbro83
Phhhhh we are getting Kovy back where's your sources? |

I have read Nesbo. Started with the Bat, and then read Redbreast (which I didn't like as much, but not bad).
If you like those type of mystery/thrillers try Harry Dolan "The Last Dead Girl" and Bad Things Happen.
Gillian Flynn, while very famous now for Gone Girl fame, is also pretty awesome -- Sharp Objects and Dark Places were great books.
If you want some heavier, but very good reads, try All the Light you Cannot See and/or Nightingale (both of which are set in World War II), although the Nightingale has a bit of a cheese romantic element but is otherwise good.
Susak is good as well. Of course, the Book Thief is what made him famous, but "I am Messenger" is a fun book.
Larsson for historical books that read like novels (although I think we talked about this).

Yea it was. One of my coworkers sent me a list of the top 40 books to read while living in Manhattan, and this one was at the top of the list so I figured I'd give it whirl. Tom Wolfe isn't my favorite author, but he usually keeps me interested throughout. |
