We could move Boyle up to Forward, giving McIlrath a full time spot and create a line of Boyle-Staal-Kreider and call it the money pit line..... almost $15MM worth of useless hockey players - MiloslavHorava
You just right now, wanna make stab my out eyes looking at that line in writing.
I don't think they do. As of right now, the Rangers only have close to 1.1 million in projected cap space. Don't see how the trade can happen if the Canes don't eat 4+ million of the cap hit. And the actual money on the term is 9.5 million in actual dollars. - tomburton99
According to General Fanager they have just under $4.3M
Plus, Staal's cap hit gets prorated.
His normal hit over a full year is $8.25M
Technically the salary cap is a "daily" function of the NHL, not an annual one.
So it gets prorated based on the number of days remaining in the season.
There are 180 days in a full season, so $8,250,000/180 = $45,833.33 per day that Staal costs on the cap.
There are 41 days remaining in the season, so $45,833.33 x 41 = $1,879,166.66
So really the Rangers would only need to accommodate about $1.9M under the cap.

Didn't think I was speaking in code but given the video, it appears that I was. - airjan23
Didn't think anyone would catch that innuendo did you? I understand the press/player discretion. Especially funny given that he "roadied" for FNM this summer.

I'm still PISSED my parents wouldn't let me go off to Giants Stadium as a 15 yr old in 1992 to see GNR/Metallica/Faith NO MORE! FNM had the opening half hr slot that whole tour & killed it according to most. Angel Dust had just come out that summer.

The only other time I saw them was at City Gardens right as The Real Thing came out, before they broke. Drummer I was playing with at the time was a big fan.
Bob McKenzie just said in the intermission report Yzerman would like to deal Drouin sooner rather then later and he feels he has some deals on the table that could help bolster the powerplay down the stretch....Yandle maybe?

I assume you know the early stuff w Chuck Moseley on vocals? "We Care a Lot" & the "Crab Song" are classics! Liked him but Patton changed the game w his unique voice!
Never mind their visors which are attached and can come crashing down near or on the nose during a fight. - mames11
It's about the force of the punches because the wrist is braced and doesn't bend, for the rule to really make sense it should be that you fought with it rather than the blood aspect but that's just how player safety is managed by the NHL anyway

If we are lucky but I've given up hope with their statement about Yandle's availability the other day

I remember when Kocur would fight a guy w a visor the first thing he did was rip that sucker off, his hands didn't need no more damage. Man he had some bloody knuckles!
