So would I. It's yet to be seen what type of player he will be as the NHL is a different animal and I think his khl numbers haven't been spectacular but if we can land him back for free who wouldn't lol |

The devils trade jacob josefson, stephen gionta, and tumuu ruutu to the leafs for 2 bags of pucks, 6 new sticks, and a signed copy of lou lamerillio's new book, The Art of Bankrupting a Franchise. |

I think its more because it came so close after the hilarious one against the Flyers. He will learn though. I'm sure his teammates and coach have already talked to him. - mdw7413
The dive against the Flyers looked like it actually hurt and was a real slash. Last night was pure theatrics and it looked like he barely got touched. The funny part is if your going to dive (and I'm not suggesting anyone should ever) at least sell it realistically. Blandisi's performances have been pretty comical.
Anyway, it was a fun night for Devil fans. An ugly night for Ranger fans and everyone just has to move on. Rangers need to look for some help at the deadline to get a bit back on track and the Devils need to figure out if they're buying or selling. I have no clue which way they'll go. |

Defense was pretty bad. Hopefully getting McDonagh and Staal back will help to steady things a bit. I would love to get a top 6 winger, Fast & Kreider are not top 6 guys.
Devils are definitely the surprise of the NHL this year. Just goes to show, Vezina type goaltending, playing hard, and players buying into a system works.
I would love for the Isles, Rangers and Devils all make the playoffs. Good times for everyone. |

I wouldn't expect any different.
And any Rangers fans blaming or complaining about the refs for the loss last night need to give their head a shake.
Its just a little concerning for us how bad they have played vs you guys and the Isles this year. Devils & Isles seem to get up for these games and Rangers are just blah. - mdw7413
Yeah and we're just better than you. |

Just an FYI..
"Please keep in mind that that per the CBA, and due to Kovalchuk’s retirement, he basically has three options for an NHL return.
1. Kovalchuk would need approval from all 30 NHL teams, due to his voluntary retirement, to return to the NHL right this second.
2. If Kovalchuk were to sit out of hockey for a calendar year, he would only need the New Jersey Devils’ consent to return to the NHL, as he’s on the voluntary retired list and last played for that club. Which means he could sign with the Devils. Or, most likely, they'd trade his rights away.
3. Kovalchuk plays internationally until he turns 35 (April 15, 2018), and then is dropped from the voluntary retired list and becomes an unrestricted free agent." |

I'm having trouble viewing some posts. Can anybody please be 'helpful' and post some information about Kovalchuk returning to the NHL. |

Trade idea Justin Shultz for Gelinas. Both players look like they can use a change in scenery (not that edm is a great change) we get a player that if we don't like we don't qualify him. So basically we open up a roster spot. |

Gelinas is bad, right, but Schultz is a dumpster. We don't need a guy like that. |

I just feel like if it doesn't work then fine you didn't really give up anything and we open up a roster spot |

i know that it's popular to flip young bad players in supposedly bad situations, but they mostly never pan out because it turns out that bad players are generally bad. it would be more helpful to trade gelinas in some type of deal to get a bad forward back at least. |
