According to Larsen's agent the Oilers wanted him to come back but he wasn't comfortable returning to the organization. - Codes1087
Yup, if you're a defencemen who doesn't want to tank your career why would you sign with that train wreck? |

Is that Linden poster one of Nuckers alternate accounts. He has only shown up when Phucker joins. I think he is Phucker uncensored - CanuckDon
I considered that two days ago.

Thought there was some link to the Big Russian.
I just hope we don't have too many of these unproven guys at camp next season and can't carry them all, can't trade the ones that aren't quite ready and end up losing them on waivers...
Don't want to be a downer but that might be a challenge trying to get all these guys into the lineup.
more moves are coming. - hillbillydeluxe

Point #1
If they don't get value for Hamhuis you will blame Linden...wtf does that mean? What if he doesn't waive his NTC? What if his value is a second round pick? How does Linden control the market? They clearly want to move him (if you have been paying attention the last two weeks) but it's somewhat out of their hands. Also your previous comment re. Trading Horvat for a rental was idiotic. I'll assume you had a tough day or are being sarcastic
Point #2
There is no upside to the Shink trade? According to Bieksa#3 the master scout? What if Shink flops (I believe he will) and never becomes a full time pro and Granlund graduates to the top 6. I admittedly haven't watched enough of Granlund to know one way or another who wins this trade a few years down the road. Nobody does - CanuckDon
Benning just told Bob Mackenzie who they are shopping and Hamhuis nor Vrbata were on the list. So in case you didn't know, the last 2 weeks have been nothing but speculation
Mike weber just got a 3rd. My spidy sense tells me hamhuis is better. And Hamhuis has said he hasn't been approached about being traded.
Anything else? (frank) off with the kool aid drinking bullshlt. |

For my money, a depth player(granlund) can be picked up off waivers. If Shink doesn't ever develop we still didn't gain anymore then a waiver quality player for him so nothing gained - Bieksa#3
If you don't have any quality depth then you need to be more selective and get the player you want, rather than just taking any old junk that comes along.
I think in Benning's mind, he's simply traded up to a similar but somewhat more versatile and reliable model. |

Surely you could still 'advertise' and then bring the offer to the agent to see if their is a fit? - dbot
Do you really think there is a single GM out of the 29 that does not know that Hammer and Vrbada have expiring contracts and we are missing the playoffs?

Depends on how many points is the threshold. who knows right now - allsports
Anything is better then what most 4th rounders get.
I'd go with 2 goals 10 points..... makes it a 4th but the actual threshold is probably 5 goals and 20 points. |

I suppose you could say the same thing about every other player listed that is sitting in the pressbox or minors....
Which begs the question why any names were mentioned and then goes round to why some were not mentioned, aaaaaand we've come full circle. |

But why wouldn't you give Shink a even breif shot to prove your point? Even his comments suggest they wanted to trade him at all cost. It kind of reminds me of Forsling for Clendenning(but more value from both players) I mean can we try to let a few guys develop? |

You can't publicly say you're looking trading players with a NTC that you haven't even asked to waive. Benning is not an idiot.. I think. He'a testing waters to see what he can get for the players he listed which then he'll assess what the returns will be first. Those talks will lead to the more enticing trade chips. Hamhuis Vrbata and maybe Hansen. You can still trade away your best trade chips and still say you're pushing for the playoffs. Anything but publicly stating your tanking because they for sure don't want to come across that way or create that kind of culture or vibe. |

My understanding was they can't be on the list due to their no-trades...or perhaps they don't want stir the pot until they have an offer to bring to them. If you don't think they are trying to unload ALL UFA's I'm sorry but you really aren't paying attention. There is a reason they never tried to resign them.
I'll (frank) off with the koolaid as soon as you (frank) off with the hysteria |

You can't shop a player with a ntc unless of course he agrees to move it. You also can't trade an injured player... Think dude...

So we're in agreement that if Hamhuis and Vrbata at some point over the next rougly 100 hrs are not asked to waive their no trades that Linden and Benning are idiots? I mean, I'm willing to let this play out.
