After years of silence, I am happy to be back on hockeybuzz. Nice to see the team is still mired in mediocrity with no hope for the future. Just the way we like it.

I certainly hope he is worth more than these two...keep in mind none of the picks are for this years draft. I suspect we will land a 2016 2nd but would be ecstatic with a first. From listening to Lindens interview yesterday it sounds like picks aren't as available as last year. It's a shame because Hammer would have been a first plus a prospect
- CanuckDon

I'd be ok with taking a 2017 1st.

Larsen had crazy good wheels and good awareness in his time in Edmonton. A decent shot, looked like he gave a damn (unlike Schultz) by skating miles. He did well on the PP in the short auditions he got, so take that for what it's worth. Would've preferred him over Schultz these past months, but realistically is a replacement for Weber.

Decent chance to take on the guy Hope it works out for you cause he evidently didn't want to come back to the Oilers!

- MaximumBone

Yep. Didn't want to be an oiler so they got something, and it's low risk for Vancouver. One has to assume the condition of the pick is on him signing?

Benning has said time and time again, that he would prefer no picks, and just do "hockey trades"

Thanks for the insight. I am glad to see Benning go after Dmen that are attacking instead of only defending.

Would you say he is like a Tory Krug?

Where is Zogg? Thought I'd see some posts by him in the evening, but he hasn't been around... miss his perspective.

Because given the fact that Mike Weber got a 3rd and Roman Polok got a 2nd + we can agree that Hamhuis will bring some solid offers.

Yeah he's def worth drouin

Some Oilers insider just tweeted that the Oilers just traded a D man who wasn't in the nhl for a pick, now it's time to move the ones who shouldn't be in the nhl

In a perfect world he isn't but let's be honest, given how this has played out, Stevie Y has cut Droulin value in half

Benning just told Bob Mackenzie who they are shopping and Hamhuis nor Vrbata were on the list. So in case you didn't know, the last 2 weeks have been nothing but speculation
Mike weber just got a 3rd. My spidy sense tells me hamhuis is better. And Hamhuis has said he hasn't been approached about being traded.
Anything else? (frank) off with the kool aid drinking bullshlt.

I heard Benning say he is talking to Hammer about it days ago. Today Hammer is quoted saying he and his wife are talking about the options.

That's too bad. Hopefully he will want to go back when the Oilers aren't drafting 1st overall again!

Actually, he has said many times it's very hard to draft for quality d-men, we will need to draft and develop them.

Not trying to be a troll

But I'm sure Stevie y isn't interested in a trade where 2/3rds is scrap

Yep he did. Not sure what that has to do with wanting to trade for players rather then picks though

According to numerous reports there are several teams looking to get in on Drouin, you might think his value has gone down but as long as there is multiple bidders it doesnt seem so.

1/3 in fair. The other 2 should have very good value.

I suppose you could say the same thing about every other player listed that is sitting in the pressbox or minors....

Which begs the question why any names were mentioned and then goes round to why some were not mentioned, aaaaaand we've come full circle.

- dbot

lol. You could say that but it wouldn't be very well though out. When you list a bunch of garbage... it's reasonable to think that some of that garbage has been over looked. If you think someone like Hamhuise needs the same advertisement as Cracknel and Weber.... then I'm laughing out loud.

I haven't watched Hansen enough to say if he is scrap I guess.

But I'm sure there is a better offer out there

But why wouldn't you give Shink a even breif shot to prove your point? Even his comments suggest they wanted to trade him at all cost. It kind of reminds me of Forsling for Clendenning(but more value from both players) I mean can we try to let a few guys develop?
- Bieksa#3

We are back to this team not giving kids a chance again are we.... this team that has had it's roster full of NHL first this season....

My understanding was they can't be on the list due to their no-trades...or perhaps they don't want stir the pot until they have an offer to bring to them. If you don't think they are trying to unload ALL UFA's I'm sorry but you really aren't paying attention. There is a reason they never tried to resign them.

I'll (frank) off with the koolaid as soon as you (frank) off with the hysteria

Excellent post. It would be unnecessary if bieksa03 wasnt so blind by hate.
